Quran 3:7 is talking to people like you As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allāh.

Yet the arab slave trade, a major component of african history, lasted more than 13 centuries. it began in the early seventh century and continued in one form or another until the 1960s. in mauritania slavery was officially outlawed only in august 2007. 😔

The Jesus is God aspect is so difficult for me here. On one hand, I can see how it looks like you're scared to answer that question, but on the other hand it's an obvious derail. I'm just curious on the optics here. I guess one thing you could say is, "we can talk about that later, but let's stay focused on the quran for now."
