The psx-place.com forum thread has the links and answers, but to be honest, there are just different beta versions of opl with mx4sio support.

Make sure the smb share is setup correctly and games are installed properly to the usb

If it is usb compatible sure but if it isn't then stuck using old version...or use cheat device homebrew app

Hello everyone, can anyone help me with a f-ed up situation? I got 2 PS2s with no functional Disc Reader (Removed by the old owner) and I can't get a Network configuration file on each of that console, the only way to get ps2 games working are my backup ones, ether SMB or USB. The way I get to a Network Configurator is trough Burnout Revenge that has the Network Adapter Settings, after that it doesn't detect the "Network Adapter" a hardware error occurs. Guess what, its not a phat PS2, its a 70004 Slim PS2 and the other one is a silver one. An important thing to point out is my Glossy Slim PS2 9xxxx (i forgot it) it happens the same way, but it can read discs and when I load the original disc or even a backup disc for Burnout it works, the settings save without a problem. I've tried a workaround with PCSX2, dumped my Bios from the 70004 one and went past the Hardware Error, moved the Config File to my PS2 MemCard, no problem. Now the settings get recognized, but the game says that the settings are corrupted. I noticed the MAC Addresses do not match, PCSX2 has its own MAC Address than the console one. Either way I juggle it can't find a way to get a Slim with no reader to get it online, I tried to search for a way to change the MAC address for PCSX2, no luck, I tried almost everything that I logically would think of. If you take your time to read this, I appreciate it deeply.

This is new to me, maybe you should post on psx-place.com for more help from ps2 devs who might know what up. So how do I replicate this on my end? You physically have no disc drive, so if I disconnect my entire laser assembly I would be in the same boat? Is buying a junk ps2 slim an option so you can salvage the disc drive in order to let you continue with this network configuration process?

@@xperia7065 Btw.: The same size applies to: -USB -Firewire -MX4SIO -internal HDD Only LAN/SMB is basically "unlimited"! PETABYTE should be possible, or even more!

1. Playing from SMB doesn't support playing online. 2. It isn't just Plug&Play. MX4SIO is, even during runtime. 3. How does your comment relate to ANYTHING in regards to the lottery? Oh... It doesn't!

SMB is good sure, but you wanna see my messy SMB setup with a Raspberry Pi + PSU cable + Ethernet Cables. MX4SIO is really cool, fits in my pocket, I can take it to my friends' house and plug it into their PS2 if I want, it's very convenient. MX4SIO for the win! :)
