I remember being a kid and asking my dad to watch Koivu just because I thought we was our best player since he was captain. I remember eating apple slices on my grandpa's knees and watching Koivu play. This guy was my childhood... I'm proud to say I have 3 jerseys of him and cried after his last game with the Habs. I'm proud to say that I've worked with the Habs for 4 years. Never had the chance to meet him, but he has always influenced me in my day to day life back then and still now. Glad to see him on this list.

Carey Price, my hero 👍🏻 Only time I saw him play was at the Joe in 2016 and I was mesmerized. I also saw the Habs play in Buffalo and sadly Niemi was in net. Then in February 2020 when I went to Montreal but Lindgren was in net instead of Price. All in all, I like Lindgren, he played well and the Habs won that game against Carolina.

Honorable mention: Maurice Richard. He had already been retired for nearly 30 years when I read The Hockey Sweater, but that book made me a Rocket fan and Habs fan by extension. I can't choose between my kids. I have Habs players I dislike, but in chronological order the title of favorite player goes Chelios, Roy, dark post-Roy decade, Ryder, Bouillon, Subban, and Byron. Danault's an active honourable mention.

Patrick Roy #1 on my list by a mile and a half. Greatest big game player and play-off performer I've ever seen. He played with passion, to entertain and he managed to pull it off day out day in. He's the only goaltender from the 80's that looked cool just by moving around. Every time you see a goaltender drop to his knees, know who made it popular. I used to argue with my goaltending coach in the 90's about whether to drop to my knees instead of stand up because I seen Patrick Roy do so. Coach responded "-That's not how you stop shots, that will never work in the long run".... he's not a goalie coach anymore.

That's a good list, especially for including fan-favorite Knuckles. I'd have Saku and Big Bird should be higher on the list and Carbonneau further down. Gainey was also much more likeable and down to earth than Carbonneau. You've mentionned liking Bobby Smith before, I'd have him instead of Mats Naslund. Honorable mentions to Halak who went on a playoff run in 2010. Also, I'd find a way to add Kirk Muller and Mike Keane. Keane was a heart-on-his-sleeve player in the mold of Gainey and an absolute steal by the Avs. Kirk Muller was the face of the team and another fan favorite for his all-heart demeanor.

Here are my top 5 Habs: 1-The Rocket 2-Jean Beliveau 3-Patrick Roy 4-Larry Robinson 5-The Roadrunner The Rocket was before my time. I've been a Hawks fan since the early 60s. I'm just now getting over losing the Cup to the Canadiens in 7 games in 1971, so I don't have many Montreal players that I like. At the top of the list for me was Yvan Cournoyer. He could really skate and no one on the Hawks could keep up with him.

There were many reasons why Chicago choked in the 1971 finals. One big reason is that Keith Magnuson had to be the worst skating defenseman in the NHL at that time. Henri Richard went right around him for the winning goal in game 7. Also, the Canadiens did a great job of containing Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita in the 1971 finals. Chicago had a two game to nothing lead and a 2-0 lead in both games 6 and 7 and then classically choked, blew it and lost. You might also remember Jacque Lemaire beating Tony Esposito from 10 feet behind the blue line in Chicago Stadium in game 7 that started Montreal's comeback.

Going back to the very early days of colour, Montreal was on the whole evil. However, a few names from those days I viewed as somewhat less than evil: Yvan Cournoyer was a fast skill player you just had to watch whenever he had the puck. Beliveau, of course. And you had to admire Henri Richard for playing so well for so long. End off with Gump Worsley, because, well, you gotta like a guy everyone calls Gump.

Pacioretty is probably second worst Montreal Captain after Gionta.

Props to you. I do not have 15 favorite Bruins. I guess I hate some less? Thornton was okay? It's not possible for me to like Boston and if I do, shoot me because it's a robot.

He was nicknamed Breeze-By for his numerous defense brain-farts. Mainly he was hated because they expected him to play like Serge Savard. For a while he was the last remaining player from the 1993 Cup-winning team
