I’ll leave that bit there. 🙂 I went from toys to pvc playstand, 🙄🤪, just finished it, and looking at it, I’ve put everything towards the back of it, so now the moustache parrot will be too close to the wall, and she is a mad chewer, combination isn’t good 😂. Top it off I used vet wrap to cover EVERYTHING so she wouldn’t slip, might be time to rearrange the furniture. 😂😂 Take care.

Sorry for the delay. Great question! I can make a point to do a video on this soon. Birds are flock animals, and they’ll want to be with you if you’re engaged with them and part of their family. Their cage will be their nest and refuge, which is why it’s important to have a separate space/cage for sleeping vs a cage cover. Try target training (see my other videos or check out BIRDTRICKS) to get them engaging with you through the cage bars. If they’ll come out, engage in tarte training on neutral ground like the counter top or a plain perch with no distractions. If your bird is eating a full seed diet it’s very unlikely much of this will work. A cold pressed pellet and veggie/grain/legume chop is ideal, and will make fatty treats like seeds and nuts appropriate for training! They will engage with you more on a proper diet and want to be with you. Hormones and poor diet will make your bird more aggressive and less likely to be fun to be around.

Thanks for asking! Yes cotton gets stuck in birds croups and cannot be digested. This happens when they rub their beak on the ropes or chew on ropes and toys with cotton parts, tiny filaments become ingested over time. Because their croup is full they have a hard time eating and it has to be surgically removed or they’ll likely die from it.

Oh it’s been BAD here for a few months I’m going to have to make some changes for sure!! Ps he’s had issues with his bird for a while because of the way they handle it. Self inflicted.

I’ve been really stressed lately and I think it’s feeding into the way my parrots feel, and I’ve had a hard time spending 1-1 time with them and doing constructive training. And, lack of new toys/changing up their environment to keep them interested.

@@bestflockingfriends yeah i understand! You're working like 5 jobs!! LOL. Wife, Mom, Chauffeur, Teacher, trainer....etc. They definitely feed off of your energy/vibe. It's virtually Impossible to keep them 100% happy in captivity so don't beat yourself up. They require SO much attention that if you can't provide enough of it, you're gonna start seeing some undesired behaviours. You try to do right by the animal but life keeps on and things happen.
