We are adopting our first Sun Conure next week. He was being rehomed the family were told to get rid of him since they are in an apartment. Before them he was at a rescue. I’ve had other birds but never a conure though I’m quite excited as I been wanting a conure for many years.

Ive had my conure from hatch to today, almost 6 years. She is difficult and remarkable 😂. And fyi, she bites me “randomly”. She knows what shes doing. BRAT 😂. MY BIRB is potty trained! My vet taught us and its easier than puppy training.

I got my green cheeks to say hi by slightly waving the chopstick at her feet and when she would try to grab it with her foot she got the click on the treat. So it wasn't too long before. I just waved the chopstick in the air and she picked up her foot and now I can do it with my finger. This is before she was target trained so she wouldn't try to bite the target stick

They are loud coz they are not getting enough attention or sleep, something is bothering them. I know coz I have sun conures quietest birds I have 😅 yeah! I agree if they go squeek in your ear you will be partially def😅 give them what they want before they ask for it and they will not be so clingy timing is everything keep proper time if they scream ignore them walk away come back when they go silent they will learn that noise = loose parent 😅 sun conures make noise when there is change so always get a chick and raise it getting an adult will be noisy coz there is a lot of change 😅😅😅

We bought a sun conure from a breather. My BF and I treated her like a daughter. We bought her 3 different cages, where we kept it open so she was free to fly around. We gave her only the best food and toys. She made the house happy and I loved her. Until last week when she just died. She dropped dead in front of our eyes in les then 30 seconds. I don't know what happended, she was only 11 months. We think a fatal heart attach. I just know that I'm devastered, and can't stop thinking and crying over her.

My GCC will NOT eat chop. I want to feed him fresh food but he will only eat seed. What do I do? I have mixed it with his seed and he eats around it. I've have tried in the morning when hes hungry still no luck. Any suggestions? Also he will not come to my hand. He gets excited to see me, will come out of cage but i can't get him to perch on me. He flys away or backs up. He was in a Pet store for 6 months before I bought him.

Funny story my parrot chewed up my hip thrust barbell pad, and i still used it even though it looked severely ravaged and honestly 1/3 gone, and i must have forgotten it one day, and lost it to the gym. Months later i saw it being used by others at the gym, and i still occasionally see it being used as the community barbell pad and no one knows the truth that it was my severe macaw that wrecked havoc on it

We just got a 8 month old sun conure 10 days ago and he/she dosent come out out of the cage or try going on my finger.I don’t know how long it will take to warm up to us.If you have your conure out of the cage sitting on your shoulder all day wouldn’t they poop all the time?

I have thought my Kiki Jonny to step up and round. But this week I am starting klicker. My Jonny is same like mango. Sorry I did not got the other ones name but she is same like our Kiki. Today Kiki sneaked out of her netting room and was in a neighbours tree. She did not come down at all. Finally had to climb a tree after 35 years and caught her. So I wan thinking to train her with klicker to come over to us when she flies out by mistake.
