Amsterdam is the next stop on my cruise on board the Norwegian Prima, not the most family friendly place to visit! It's been a few years since I last visited Amsterdam and it was one of my favorite cities but things have changed... Luckily, the weather is great! Enjoy！

I think you are my favorite travel Vlogs along with Ben and David’s Vlogs. I lost My husband 5 months ago! It was devastating and I very much need a reason to get out of bed and start a new chapter in my life. I think I’m going to start solo traveling (because of you.) I’m 72 my husband didn’t care much for traveling and I’ve always wanted to travel and traveled the World through Books and Vlogs like yours! I want to (Thank you) so very very much. Hey Cheryl, your comment made my day 😊 I don’t need to tell you that life is too short, so why not get out there and enjoy it? That’s all I’m trying to do and I’m so happy that my videos have given you even a small piece of happiness. I love to travel and I love sharing my adventures, let me tell you that the oldest SOLO traveler on my cruise was 92 years old!! A lady that lost her husband but continued to travel because the only alternative is to stay home and that’s no fun 😁 I’m so happy that I’ve inspired you to travel, I would definitely look at doing a cruise, you would love it. Many opportunities to meet like minded people and enjoy your time together! Like I said in the video, I am definitely the youngest person in the ‘solo club’ but we’re all just human beings spending a tiny portion of our lives on this ship, so why not enjoy it and enjoy the company of others?! Yes yes! Ben got me out of my funk too. I am a new empty nester and found myself staying home a lot. Ben’s trip in the Norwegian solo cabin inspired me to try it out and that’s what I did last month. Not sure the solo cabin was my cup of tea but I had a great time on my first solo cruise. Just try it!!

Tip for the next time you're on a cruise that visits Amsterdam: take a train to Haarlem (15 min) or Utrecht (30 min). I think you would like those cities.

Cool video! I went to Amsterdam a few times but didn’t venture to the red light district. Went on a canal ride and museums. Again, the food looks good ! 😂 I think I would gain so much weight if I ever took a cruise!

I also did a canal ride the last time I was in Amsterdam! I do still like Amsterdam but there's a few things that ruin it! HAHA I eat a lot and walk a lot to it balances out! Thanks for watching, Lim! 😁

What a fun video! Amsterdam is on my list (minus the red light district). Good to know you don't have to go on excursions. I would spend all day in the museums. The food vending machines are Automats in the US.

There’s plenty to do in Amsterdam, Fredwina! Definitely skip the RLD, nothing to see there! I think Amsterdam can definitely be a port where an excursion isn’t a necessity and the ship docks right in the city! The last time I was in Amsterdam, I visited many great museums! I agree about Anne Frank house! I was disappointed when I visited 35 years ago. I am about to head to Amsterdam tomorrow and looked to get tix…yup sold out!

I was in Amsterdam almost 50 years ago. A group of us, mostly males in the 18 - 20 year range went to the red light district at night. As far as I know, no one did anything there, but it was definitely an experience for a group of young Americans. I enjoyed your video.

Thank you, Pamela 😁 it’s not that I don’t like showing the food, my main issue is I don’t want to disturb the people sitting near me. No one wants to be annoyed by a guy sitting next to them in a restaurant talking about the food to a camera 😂 also, I don’t think filming me actually eating will add much value to the video 😂 food is always great though!

I really enjoyed my cruise on the Prima. It felt like an upscale hotel. I'm looking forward to going on Prima's sister ship (Viva) in January out of Puerto Rico too!

Great video! I never wanted to go there but looks worth a wander around. My friend from there also mentioned how dirty it is. I think I would want to see the Frank house.

I agree with you that it’s a great city to just wander! Lots of interesting things to see around every corner. The dirty streets definitely ruin it and the countless homeless is not nice to see. But it’s worth a visit 😊 lots of cool things to do and see! Thank you for watching!

Appreciate your observations and the tour. (17:55) Amsterdam seems to follow the same trend of many western cities these days. They are not what they were 5, 10, 15 years ago. Higher crime, homeless people on the streets, drugs, broken infrastructures, graffiti, dirty streets, high inflation, immigrants, ... the same set of issues. Yet these were not on the front page of western newspapers. Instead, it's all about elections, the Ukraine war, Israel and Gaza, high tariffs on Chinese EV, trade wars. It's a good time to take a cruise and get away.

Hey Ben, NCL Solo cruiser as well as TA - don't forget you can still book onboard the ship and use you $50 Free@Sea Excursion credit - I loved Belgium and for future reference we had plenty of time in Bruges and it was amazing. There are many tour buses there so if a worse case scenario you can get picked up by one of the other buses -it started raining & we were able to jump on another bus w approval of the driver. You can also catch an Uber back. I also use Viator. On my Northern European Cruise last mid Sept-early Oct I booked most of my cruises on the ship. Many times I do the Bruges on your own for instance but the transportation is provided. Alright -keep cruising I might do a TA on the Prima -. You probably had a wonderful time w Romeo as you Solo Leader. NCL is the best out there for Solo Cruising .Enjoy
