I take you through my week of reuniting with my son's father. He arrived from Tennessee to be with his sister Jan who fell gravely ill. Jan was a wonderful amazing woman whom I loved.
As I spent time with John and our high school friends, I could not help but wonder why some people are in our lives forever but some seem to disappear so mystery. What are the three things an enduring love or friendship has in common? I talk about what I think those three things are. How about you?
Some of the clips you see in this video are of John in me in 2022. We helped each other through the tears, the waiting, and the heartbreak of the week. We went to thrift stores, took long walks, prayed and spent time with our son and grandchildren. It wasn't easy to hug him goodbye. It really was terrible...but that is life I suppose. To love is to risk...but a risk worth taking.
My love to you always,
thank you for your good wishes, prayers and uplifting kindness you show Desi and me every day...
Next week a tour of my city and a little fun...
Please know we love you so much,
Susan & Desi

Here is my song for the asking
Ask me and I will play
So sweetly, I'll make you smile
This is my tune for the taking
Take it, don't turn away
I've been waiting all my life
Thinking it over, I've been sad
Thinking it over, I'd be more than glad
To change my ways for the asking
Ask me and I will play
All the love that I hold inside

For me, it was a sibling after our dear dad passed away. She implied that I stole jewelry from our mom on the day that we moved her!! Blew me away...I was SO surprised/bewildered/ANGRY/confused!! Even seriously considered hiring an attorney...😒. I'm trying to forgive her for myself, but she had already said something even MORE hurtful a few years prior to that, so it's VERY difficult to do!! ( She acted like my late daughter didn't exist...) 😢 I really don't care to have her in my life...K.G.

My 50th no one came or called. I let go of the last 'friend' who was not a friend. Our society is no designed to nurture friendships, its all about completion, do i look better than you, you than me, getting stuff, showing off stuff, being loud and making sure you are first, its toxic and I'd rather be alone than with people, its about stuff out there, not humanness. These days everyone teaching that you must come first and no one can create a relationship when humanity is to be avoided!

I never stopped loving my ex. He and I never found anyone else. After 20 years of being divorced, he died. He was my best friend; the father of my children and I miss him so much. It's only been 10 months... When he died, a part of me died too; the part of me that only he knew. I'll never find another love like that. I'm 70 and will live with my memories. He was always there for me.❤ I'm so sorry for your loss. 💔

My ex husband of 30 years recently lost his wife. I could not believe my eye's when just 2 weeks following her death he messaged me! 2 weeks! It reminded me why he'd been my ex husband, what a horrible man he was, how dare he even try and contact me. I raised his son's alone, all those years of so much hard work, tears, fears, for him to even dream I had anything to say to him.. vile disgusting human being.

My husband and I are both in our sixties and making a huge move to another state far away so we can watch our one and only grandchild grow up and be a part of his life and I know that we are doing the right thing! Like you pointed out...some friends just don't show up when the going gets tough. But I'm choosing to be joyful and thankful for the ones who did! So much heartbreak comes into our lives and it seems there are always those certain few who hang in with you. I'm so grateful for those precious friends and family whom I've formed lifetime bonds with. They are what makes my life twinkle! Keep sharing your thoughts feelings and insights. I cdnt have the cycle of abuse to continue.. she's now safe and cared for 24/7

I've known my husband since we were teens. We got married young and we have like most have weathered a few storms. I waited when he was sent to war. We have been devoted to each other for 60 years. My friends that married young and divorced always say that person ment the most to them. It's a personal experience for everyone, doesn't mean they should or shouldn't get back together. Some have and enjoy years of happiness. Other divorce again.

Oh that brought so much raw emotion, loss, and sadness to the surface! Things I try hard to stuff out of sight or at least out of my conscious mind. I do not know the answer to the question, other than timing, maturity, cross-purposes, insecurity, focusing on shallow things that matter not in the end….. I’ve been alone for so long and just lately…it’s really hurting. I do believe in second chances, and hope. And love

She's lucky she has Johnny in her life. They may not have worked out but at least he's not naturally evil. She said nothing washes love away but I think she's wrong- it's easy to wash away any love you had for someone who ended up being a sadistic psychopath who tortured you on purpose. Obviously Johnny is not that

I love your videos. Love does go on forever. I recently thrifted a hand sown quilt. I noticed how special it was and brought it home and was fixing a couple places that frayed and realized it is a wedding quilt made by hand for someone. I will cherish it. So love does go on it just transferred to me by someone I didn’t even know. I felt in my heart how special it was. I know how you feel and thank you for sharing I was able to connect. My husbands been gone 29 years on August 21 at and I still feel his love with me always. Thank you so much. Many blessings to you

Susan, I left you a message yesterday, but what I didn't tell you was my ex husband was always there for me. We became best friends after our divorce and even when he was in a terrible accident, my kids asked, what will he do if he cannot take care of himself. Without even thinking, I said," well we'll just take him home! He did recover but not for long. We talked every night on the phone for several years, and finally he asked me to marry him again. I said yes, and I was so thrilled, as we had worked out our problems and got along so well. He died two nights later! I have asked myself so many times why we hadn't done this sooner......I can't come up with an answer. He had always been my best friend. So, when I suggested you and John had something very special, I really wanted you to think about it. That sort of bond doesn't come along every day, or ever again. I do apologize for the nudging but I guess I was just thinking of myself.

Dr. Phil says past behavior predicts future behavior. I find that to be true with MOST people. I’ve reconnected with people from my past and am astounded at how they haven’t grown or changed. I’m too old and too tired to compromise my morals and values for them when they could care less about anyone but themselves!
@true6457

He could really care less and hasn't learned or grown.. I do believe "the John" has deceived her for years and smacks narcissist to me (she'd be probably not aware of either a sexual diversion which almost 1 out of 3 men have had and ( I'm out generation over 55 vs 1 out 30 women in our generation) is why she" never saw it coming." He put on a great show w helping her move. Even on camera he had to come back and be the "good guy" before he tells her in (private no "more friendship") He doesn't want to be the bad guy. Then comes back to tell her "no more friendship." That's a sure demand from either a therapist or new "Friend" has given HIM an ultimatum... I'm telling you "LOVE is Truly blinding" Been there done that several times. Then found out after the internet how many women are so deceived.. and just bury their heads in the sand as was I. In Diane's case I am SO IMPRESSED by her strength to get busy, get online and create, learn how to make money, and share something most of us would be afraid to. She's such an impressive innovative woman. In my opinion any male that found her would be the luckiest guy in the world! Too bad she ended up w someone that cdnt be loyal.. because I pretty sure he "ain't".. read about narcissists... OMG she doesn't even see it was his fault she we was in that position because he DITCHED her. So many women are brain trained not to get it.. I worked in the film industry with the likes of Harvey Weinsteins.. women from our generation believed everything men told us. Male privilege has run amok for HUNDREDS of years even when we're being abused. Thank God for the internet young women can now at least learn the Truth about who the bad apples are...and there are PLENTY.. Los Angeles has 93% divorce rate men leaving women for the YOUNG more gorgeous mistress or young girl using older men for YEARS We all need to wake up and then NO MORE an the ex's come back and forth when they're either dumped by the new lady friend or guy friend that rejected THEM .... It's not good for you. FORGET about the rotten apple that dumped you during your impending golden years. I'm sorry ladies but here's your reading list. Then you all tell me if you think most men still think it's ok to dump u even if it destroys your life... Dr Phil a HUGE CHEATER read about his FIRST WIFE he left ended up destroying her life for his current controlling crazy wife. Elon MUSK Dumped AND Tried TO EVICT his first wife of his four children btw read about all his affairs AFTER that. Bill Gates who we thought was such a GREAT guy having affairs with many of his staff and I know one of them. AMAZON Jeff Bezos who actually picked UP Lauren Sanchez at a party he & his first wife was with him and Lauren Sanchez was with her WONDERFUL husband. Harvey Weinstein's affairs were not only notorious even his new wife believed him til she cdnt anymore! Last but MOST favorite was CHRIS BURRESS of KTLA ) WE ALL LOVED this down to earth regular newscaster known for BURRES BITES) Los Angeles fooled even the public & his female collegues for YEARS.. On camera down to earth OFF CAMERA WOW!!! His wife NEVER SAW OT COMING.. Its one story the MEDIA KTLA has swept under the rug. It's VERY INTERESTING It's not just famous guys. It's the regular Joe's...you need to RESEARCH your potential new males because they All have access to porn and pay for Hook up online... It's a huge problem Ladies WAKE UP...

Thank you Susan, this was a heartfelt video. You and John looked so comfortable together. That is amazing really. Glad you saw your grandkids together, that was special. I don't have that with my ex. He barely even acknowledges his grandkids who I adore and appreciate so much in my life. I think there are soul contracts that bring people into our lives. Some for a short time, and they have a purpose and impact, some for years until that contract is fulfilled. If we are very lucky we have some that stay for a very long time and are part of our soul group. I am lucky enough to have friends in that category. It is a feeling of comfort and trust as you said. It's just love for each other. What more do we need really.
