In this video I review my favorite fish medication Mardel Clout. I go over why I use it, what its made of, and how to use it. Its a long video, but medications need good explanations.

My favorite also!

It's been a long time, but i reccomend putting it into a cup, dissolving it and putting the cup in the water so that the white stuff stays in the cup but the active medication gets into teh water column

Cannot find clout anymore. Is there an alternative?

btw i love that big rock in the middle of the tank. looks fantastic
@AquaticLogic7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sky. I hope I never have to lift it out, because it takes two people to get in and out. I have never had a rock that I could not lift out before, so its an adventure especially for vacuuming my sand.

Do you let them sit in it for 24h in a static renewal system or do you add it to a flow through system?

I just started keeping fish and one of them just refused to eat anything. Will give it a try. Thanks!

How long do u treat for hole in the head with clout? Also, is it safe to use with a Pleco in the tank?

How do invertebrates (snails, shrimp, crabs) fare with this medication? Also, would pouring the solution through a fine mesh or through polyfil pull out the cellulose while allowing all of the good stuff to get into the tank?
@AquaticLogic7 жыл бұрын
They say that its not safe for invertebrates, and I have no experience with them either. They also say that it should not be used on scaleless fish but my S. petricolas handled it perfectly. My fear with pre-filtering the cellulose out is it could remove some of the active ingredients as well. The cellulose binds up the medication when in pill form, and you would need to be totally sure that the cellulose is broken apart, and liberated all the meds.

does the water turn green,if so does it dissipate or does it require water change or changes in time to clear the water.thank you.
@AquaticLogic7 жыл бұрын
Yeah the malachite green does turn the water green, but depending on the pH it may stay like that, or clear up. In really basic conditions (my tanks are @ 8.2) it clears up quickly.

Some of the fish not eating well they try to eat but they can chew or swallow food properly sit on the corner some I lost so i want to try
@ashwinmistry94646 жыл бұрын
Should I feed them first mild food and then give or ok to give and after 24 hrs latter water change and then feed them ? Advised please
@richardnegron97287 жыл бұрын
shouldn't you remove the fish and another tank,
@AquaticLogic7 жыл бұрын
Nope. If you have an internal parasite, its probably spewing out its offspring into your tank, substrate, filters, and thus you should treat the whole system.
