Before I started carnivore I did not understand the fasting. I thought, “I’m always hungry how am I gonna ever fast?”. Then when you start you get so satiated you can do a fast and not be hungry. I love this way of eating! It’s the way our bodies were meant to eat. Down 80 lbs and losing. 95% healed of numerous ailments and auto immunity.

I tried skipping breakfast & did 2 meals a day and for some odd reason my hormones got all out of whack! Started having hot flashes & staying awake at night. Goodness!! So I think I have more healing to do…back to square one. Definitely eating a little breakfast again 😅 N=1 I do like what Neisha says in the video.

Intuitive fasting is a great way to explain it. Took me about a 8 months on carnivore to notice my true hunger queues and sometimes they’re early and sometimes not until 1pm.

This is exactly how it do it. I don’t force a fast. As women there are times we need to eat and other times we just aren’t hungry. Sometimes is think to myself that I might fast the next day and if it happens great…and if it doesn’t that’s okay too.

Big fan of intuitive fasting! I drink black coffee and unflavored sparkling water while fasted. Sometimes I go 20 plus hours, but others only 16. I’ve never felt super focused or energized with longer fasts 🤷‍♀️ so I don’t push myself. Maybe I should?? But thanks for sharing your fasting experiences.

Neisha, there is also the spiritual reason to fast. When God calls you to fast ya do it. I once fasted for 40 days (20 years ago). I juiced apple/carrot/celery juice, drank water and some vegetable broth (that made). Of course that was before keto/ketovore/carnivore. It was awesome. 💜✝️💜

Thank you for posting this because this is what I've been doing too. Scheduling a fast just doesn't work for me. It becomes more food focused after awhile because I would watch the clock. Oh good! It's 2pm now I can eat. I've been following you and Dr. Berry for quite awhile and love the videos! As a matter of fact, I'm a former patient of Dr Berrys. I lived in Camden about 10 yeas ago and he is the one who diagnosed me a type 2 diabetic. I am still struggling with that and my weight but not giving up. I've learned alot from you and your husband. God bless you and your wonderful family.

I do the same thing. I did have an eating issue so listening to my body is something new and thanks to this WOE I am so more in touch. I do realize I get "head hunger" but I now recognize it better. I might eat a breakfast and then fast the rest of the day. I listen to my body. If I am hungry I eat, if not I don't. I will drink a coffee (or not) depending. I don't snack ..so meals only and protein first. I am going to try your "Ketoaide" because that sounds refreshing particularly during this hot summer. The earliest I eat is say 11am or noon. Generally just one meal and maximum two. I try to meal prep so if I am starving all of a sudden I have decent food. Made those nuggets and loved them. Thanks Neisha!

The regimented fasting rules just go against my bodies natural instincts. It is just to restrictive. It is often too food focused. Planning your “food windows” becomes a bit obsessive. I don’t want to think that much about food. I appreciate your relationship with food. Thanks Niesha!

I love that term “intuitive fasting”. I follow a 18/6 or 16/8…depends on how I feel…however, like today, I just wasn’t hungry until 4:30 pm…so that’s when I ate. That was a completely unplanned 24 fast for me. My body tells me when to feed it and usually it’s a long stretch before hunger sets in. BTW - I ordered the 3 month supply of LMNT and LOVE IT! I believe it does curb cravings…my favorites are the citrus salt, watermelon, and mango chili…raspberry too! They are refreshing and filling! Thank you for your great informative videos…they’re fun and we learn something 😎

My husband fast intuitively too. He wakes up, does errands breakfast by 12:30nn, eats lunch by 5 pm, and that is his last meal. Every day he has 19-20 hrs fast. It's his regular schedule daily, and his body is used to it. Thanks for bringing up the words “intuitive fasting.”

I just made your chicken nuggets recipe. Used freshly grated parm and some smoked paprika and a little chopped onion and celery. They are amazing with a little primal kitchen ranch dressing or bbq sauce for dipping. Definitely will be making all the time since Aldi sells ground chicken so cheap! Its a nice change from just making chicken tenders.

Neisha, really enjoy your perspective on fasting. I've been watching your past videos and agree that I would rather not say I eat carnivor diet because of being called a second class eater. I was on the diet for 60 days and had terrible side affects. It wasn't until I saw Sally Norton on utube that I am now not experiencing all my issues. Proper human diet is really dictated by the body! It needs lots of animal meat and fat but sometimes, for some people, there will be tweeks. Thanks for being so "normal."

This is exactly how I fast! When I first wake up I hydrate with good water. This helps me ask myself when I want to eat and I find myself typically “not” hungry for many hours after waking. My intuitive fasts also average between 16-20 hours. Also, I have been doing IT for a few years so I’m fat adaptive. I believe this happens naturally when you have done IT for years.

I started fasting that way too… did my first 72 hour fast… it was good… I felt great… but when I started eating is where I got into problems… Did bone broth Then eggs and bacon Then a burger steak rare Losts of salt water.. and more bacon befor bed.. Man did I sleep couldn’t walk up the next day… I broke out… The next meal I had to take a nap.. My body started hurting Which was a fibromyalgia attack… And it’s been 3 weeks and I’m feeling normal again… and am going to fast again 72…. Been eating to prime for this fast.. Question is I’m not sure why I’m feeling so good while fasting then pow 💥 when I eat… I get all the above symptoms of my old life… I’m not sure if I’m handling it right… but I’m just eating BBBE and waiting until I feel normal again…

I too have fibromyalgia and when I’m fasting say 24 hours, maximum 4 days. I have a horrible fibromyalgia flare too. Don’t know if it’s because I’m in bed a bit more and the pressure of my very comfortable bed hurts my muscles. I really don’t know🤷‍♀ why. I’m low carb and going to start carnivore as it’s proven to really reduce fibromyalgia pain. Every time I fast though, I get much more stiffness and pain. Also it takes me a good couple of weeks after to feel my usual normal. I’d like to know why too. First I thought it might be detox symptoms. It’s every time I fast. Please let me know if you find what helps. I also make sure I take my electrolytes every morning. My hubby thinks it’s a shock to our bodies when we fast??? No idea honey. Big hugs 🤗 and I’m so pleased you’re feeling better. Got to love ❤ fibromyalgia 😳🙄😜🤪🥰

That's how I fast and easy too. And it also helps me to feel in control and never like I totally messed up. I been addicted to sugar and binging though. I had to get my gut under control, particularly the yeast in the gut. There is only one brand of probiotics and prebiotics that actually help me to have my sugar and binging under control. I tried others but had to go back to it. Now I just know that's what my body needs. I now want to try carnivore as an elimination to find sensitivities and intolerance, then go back to ketovore minus those things that make me feel bad.

Thank Dr. Berry and Nurse Neisha for your labor of love!! I missed your live! I wanted to ask if my lisinopril/hctz combination 40 mg + metoprolol 25 mg + Balziva 28 (birth conrol) could be keeping from ketosis? I use the ketomojo and glucose never has shown higher than 120/130 and is usually in the 80 to 100 range but I hardly ever show im in Ketosis even when I am on carnivore and even when fasting (very disappointing). I have been on keto since April this year and have lost 40 lbs.... now at a stall (I am up 5 or 6 lbs then down 5 or 6 lbs over and over). My BP is staying in the 70s and 80s but I have not been able to go off the meds yet. This is the only thing I can seem to narrow it down to. Thank you so much for your time and care with all of us!!

As soon as I heard you say: I eat when I'm hungry, I can say NO to food, I eat until I'm full, and etc., I knew I was probably on the wrong channel for coaching. I do like some of your recipes and will research your channel for more ideas. But for those of us that are fat, eat out of frustration, eat for anxiety and emotions, and do not have control of our portions, need something else. I have intermittent fasted (18 - 6) for 5 or 6 months with no help. Forming habits is very hard for me, and that makes it hard for me to exercise daily and watch my eating.

Neisha hun what are your thoughts about bone broth? I heard it can be very healing to the body. I like this intuitive fasting method. It makes sense to me.

Check out GAPS diet by Dr Natasha Campbell McBride, it’s huge in that diet. Not bone broth but meat stock. It’s a short cooked stock with meaty bones. It’s very healing.
