Somehow the last few minutes of PART 1 got dropped with my latest video. Here it is. Let me know what you look for in a hard bodied lure?? The season for em is just about here!

Love the content… I’m not a Jack Fisherman, as too far down the coast, Mid North Coast. Lost a Jack in Yamba on holiday that followed a bait of bread in that I was fishing for Bream. I was just burning it in for my next cast and got a reaction bite. Man never had anything on before anything like it. It turned 180 Degrees in an instant and busted me off instantly. I want to get one one day. I was trying recently to upgrade some of my new lures to put some heavier trebles on some of my hardbodies for my Estuary fishing. I bought several bigger trebles, couple sizes up. Anyway on my Daiwa Double Clutches and my Cranka divers found they screwed the action totally and sent them pretty fast to the bottom. I.e. sank them. So I just put the old ones back on. Anyway bit of an experiment, that didn’t work. Those lures pretty space age, very fine tuned and you cant mess with them. Hope yr going well.

Appreciate the time and effort you put into your vids, they’re a great resource for us less experienced fishos. A rod roundup would be great too some day. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the great content! It's awesome to see what the Aussies are throwing. I we have some great Jack fishing (or Snapper as we call em) here in SA and it's really great to learn about new techniques and tackle and what works best. Keep it up!

Great content mate . Really love hearing your tips on estuary fishing, the enthusiasm is addicting, just makes me want to get out there, Think I’m chucking a sticky tomorrow 😀. I have caught around 100 fish the last 6 weeks ,heaps of Jew ,flatty, tailor ,big GT’s but not one jack this year.

Thanks for the videos John!! Please keep them coming!! What treble combination do you use on your Duo Realis 100DR? I tried a few but always seemed to sit pointing up or down...never got it to sit flat...running your treble combo on my Sumari 90D and yeah, that sits perfectly flat! Thanks for the tips mate!! Getting sooooo keen for this jack season!! Cheers
@mylurebox4 жыл бұрын
Cheers Ramon. I run a heavier rear treble like a BKK size 4 I think it is and either the stock front treble or a size 6 2x Owner. Mine tend to sit slightly forward too because of the rolling balls. Either way though, they’re an awesome lure

mylurebox thanks mate, I’ll give that a go! Cheers

from what i have learn from chasing jacks in my place, jacks dont chase bait as much. so using a slow speed reel helps a lot as jacks takes the baits on the pause

smith cherry blood and duo realis are also not finicky about how you attached them, even works fine with big size 3 mustad fastach snaps.
@mylurebox4 жыл бұрын
Definitely rate lures made well enough to cop the upgrade or changes eh. They’re good gear

Awesome video mate love it and super keen to get amongst the jacks. What model was the first 2 lures?
@mylurebox4 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate ;) the first 2 were Tiemco Sumari 90D and a Smith Cherry Blood. Both are exceptional IMO

Do you ever use the old gold bomber mate for you jacks
@mylurebox4 жыл бұрын
Yeah mate. They’re the goods for sure. The big one has saved me and my brothers from donuts too many times to count. I love trying new and different stuff a lot though so it’s always with me but not the first on the line most of the time. The smaller one in those tea tree creeks is also the goods I reckon.

It’s a Strudwick Hardbodz 5’6 8-10kg heavy action. It’s about 15 years outa stocking though mate. Still looking for a blank and butt just like em though so I’ve persisted with the 3 I bought back then.
