Having binged ultramarathon videos over the last few weeks, I think there's room to increase the level of athleticism and training required for top 3 spots even in the biggest events. The winners are often 10% or more faster than second place and so, with your professionalism, I'm very curious to see if you shake things up!

WOW!! This is going to be such a fun weekend and summer! Heather is such a powerhouse I cannot wait to see how she stacks up in the field. I love her attitude and confidence! Heather- you deserve all the wins!! Remember - everyone knows the "smart approach" until someone else comes along and crushes them using a different approach. Do you out there. Worst that can happen is you learn a ton:)

HJ is such a ******, I love it. Trail running falls are inevitable and they hurt, but hopefully without serious injuries. Self edit, I should have said, HJ is amazingly strong, I love it.

I'm transitioning to trail running from Ironman too! First ultra this weekend - Salmon Falls 50k. I'm with you on not knowing pacing. New world. A running friend of mine that has two tickets to Western states this year tells me I'm completely crazy on pacing and hydration plan. I think coming from Ironman and Road marathon (2:40 at CIM this year) gives us a unique perspective though. am going to enjoy watching your Journey! Amazing video!!
