You should get a 5 ton floor jack for quick changes and a 18 Volt Impact Gun for quick tire changes on the roadside. Good job and getting this handled

He has a 20 volt impact the problem is that his impact is a 3/8 and not a 1/2 inch drive. He definitely needs a 1/2 inch drive impact for more torque.

$100k truck and doesnt own a floor jack and a impact. The more time you spend using that crappy bottle jack is time that your risking your life with your back to the highway., Get a $100 harbor freight floor jack and the earthquake impact and get that tire changed quickly and safely

A couple of things to consider: Do you still have the Goodride tires that came with your trailer? It looks like it to me. They're some of the worst tires available. I had 3 blowouts with them and finally replaced the remainder with Sailun and Ironman, which seem to not have the random, complete failures when loaded near capacity, and the tread doesn't feel soft and sticky after a few miles, either. You might get more miles out of Goodrides, but having some of them replaced and just carrying one or two as unmounted spares is a good low-risk use for them. Jacks and lug wrenches take a lot of time and effort. Buy or make yourself run-up blocks (or use your dunnage) to drive-up on with the good tandem tires on the side, and carry a good electric impact (Ridgid makes a nice 1/2") and you can have a wheel changed in less than the time you'd be required to deploy your triangles. With a couple sets of run-up blocks or more dunnage, you can even get a whole axle off quickly.

I just ordered my impact wrench from home deapot they have what I think it’s a good deal in the Milwaukee Fuel hi torque $249 with one battery, the charger was another $59 but for $325 i think it’s not bad. I might be over thinking but I know I’m going to go through that as well, and when it happen I want to be out of the danger zone as soon as I can. There’s a lot of people that don’t care about vehicles on the side of the road and pass by flying, they don’t even reduce their speed. I’m glad you guys are good 👍🏻👍🏻 thanks for the content!!!

If those are Dexter axles, they say Do Not jack on the suspension parts or axle tubes. You should only jack on the trailer frame. I question if you are getting the wheel lug nuts tight enough with that spinner wrench. I know the ones on my trailer are supposed to be torqued to 200 ft lbs.

Check out your bottle jack. If you try unscrewing the very top of it you should find that you can screw out about 4 inches of screw. This screw adjustment is so you can get absolutely the most lift out of the jack. I've never owned a bottle jack that didn't have an adjustment screw on it.

Behind me and helped finish tighten the lug nuts for me cause between the Louisiana heat and humidity a hard work I was give out and losing my little strength that I had. My tire was shredded by driving on the rumble strip for maybe a 100 feet as I slowed down. One thing though this was caused from a piece of dunnage that fell off an oilfield hotshot truck that just passed me up, caught my left rear tire as I deserved to avoid luckily missed it with my front tire. I was doing 75 mph on I 49 where that's the legal speed ! I was very lucky that was all that happened to me ! 🙄

It’s fine to get new tires when you are ready. But if you continue to have blowouts and only replace one tire at a time, you are going to keep having the same issue. With dual tire axles, you shouldn’t be miss matching tires on one side with one being old and one being new with more tread depth. there is a height difference in the tires and when you put a single new next to an old you will now wear out the old one quicker and repeat the process when you only replace that one bad tire. Dully tires should always be replaced two tires at a time of the same tire type. This goes for a truck as well. Next time you get a flat and need to replace one tire on the trailer do yourself a favor and replace both with a 14 ply and keep the good leftover used tire as a spare.

Please get an electric impact. It makes the job so much faster. The faster you get those lug nuts off and back on, the more drive time you have and you'll spend less time risking distracted drivers hitting you. Great video!

Stopping to change a tire doesn't effect available drive time.

@@happypappy6371 If you spend more time on the side of the road, you're spending less time doing what you want to do, unless you enjoy changing a tire on the side of the road.

@@bradschaefer6422 Well, as I said, it still doesn't change the amount of drive time. He only has 11 hours. Better choice to save time would have been the proper jack for the trailer.
