A 15 hour day in the Edwards valley of Arthurs Pass climbing Falling Mountain.
Starting from my car at Greyneys Shelter I crossed the Waimakariri and made my way up Edwards Valley. After stopping at Edwards Hut to change into boots, I continued up rhe valley to the base of Falling Mountain and began the climb. Ice axe and crampons soon came out and I was plodding through the snow towards the summit. After a brief break on top of Falling Mountain I began the descent, arriving back at my car in the dark. A total of 15 hours, 33km and 1825m of Vert.

That water first up would've been cold enough to freeze the balls off a billiard table and then you ked thru snow n ice. Your one fit specimen Zeb no doubting that. Spectactular views sure made it worth it even for us to see. Thanks for all your efforts my friend nothing short of sensational. Bushyboy Oz

I do worry a little bit about you Zeb, 12 hrs to hut was big enough but 15 and then driving might be pushing it but I do get it. I did 5x 15 hr hikes last year (mainly around the DC3 adventure) but mostly I had company. At least you’re not rusting out “camping in the rain” but instead doing some epic stuff for yourself 👏👏👏

Nice trip, mate. How have you found that bd speed 50 pack thus far? I've had one a number of years and am in the process of doing a review video on it.

Thanks Josh. Yeah it's pretty good. Nice and lightweight, I've loaded it up with 6 days of gear and it's carried alright. Great for overnight/day missions. Cheers
