The only reason so many people are raising red flags and constantly nagging on Alyx about where she's been for the past 2 months is because the last time we heard from her, she talked about how she was gonna go to some cult potluck. I think the fans have a very valid reason to be worried. A simple "im okay" on her instagram story is not too much to ask for because I personally think it's quite shitty to leave people who care about you in the dust, ESPECIALLY after what was discussed on the podcast.

I’ve been wondering myself. What I don’t understand is why she would think this is career ending. The things they said were not super awesome, but they weren’t like terrible. She just needs to come to terms with the fact that you don’t support secrets like that. Nothing wrong with putting it on the podcast, but addressing it, like thats something cool is not so awesome. I think she just needs to not freak out, and admit she made a mistake and move on.

Thank you for addressing the situation with the therapist and for making the decision to remove her from the show, for me the victim blaming comment she made about a SA victim is really what did it for me and I feel like that’s a lot of the reason most people were upset, she said a lot of things that were incredibly harmful

Also if alyx thought it was unethical than why was she asking specific pointed questions in the first place or having her on at all. So you ask her a question, she openly answers and then you quietly judge her, act fake to her face and then kick her off the show because she had a marginally different viewpoint on nuanced topics. i was really wondering about this sort of thing so i went to the legal side of reddit and asked if a youtuber or their podcast were being hit with a lawsuit would they have to remain offline until it’s resolved and basically reddit told me no and that i’m insane for jumping to this conclusion and the youtuber doesn’t owe anyone anything (like fucking duh, we’re just confused and concerned) but it doesn’t feel like we’re jumping to any conclusion bc we have no idea what’s going on

The therapist in general would just give extremely poor advice / or discussions. Just her take or views or opinions on things were extremely distasteful.

@@mariasamartin1624 she tried talking from a neurological standpoint to justify why men are more likely to cheat in relationships/hook up with other people more often than women. it didn’t sit right with a lot of people because it was as if she was trying to use science to justify something as serious as cheating.

Yeah no same- her content is my favorite personally. I thought that maybe she took a break for the holidays so I checked her social media to see if she’s said anything. Nothing. No new posts, but people were speculating in the comments about the potluck thing. I hope she’s alright. To be honest I doubt she went to the potluck though lol, I think maybe she just got overwhelmed and took a mental health break without informing anyone or maybe even decided to do some kind of experiment. They were talking about social media experiments in the video, pretending to be mad at each other or something, maybe instead she brought up this cult stuff to make some conspiracies or something and then just waited to see what happened? Who knows. I hope we get some kind of an answer soon though.

I really hope Alyx is just taking a break and nothing bad happened... Regarding the therapist though, admittedly I didn't fully understand the sudden vitriol towards her because I wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying, but I've been listening to the therapy podcast she co-hosts and now I get it. It's especially clear to me after listening to an episode with the topic of SA where she made comments that were so inappropriate and unwarranted. If Revealing Your Secrets is still happening, I'm relieved Alyx made the decision to let go of her.

No, I agree. In this one and her last video, she had become a big proponent of using psychedelics and certain other natural herbs that "have a calming effect". I think she might have gotten sucked right into an addiction that overshadowed everything else in her life.

@@TheNoiseySpectator You can’t really “get addicted” to ayahuasca. Psychedelics are so mentally exhausting that people generally don’t have a desire to do them but every once in a while. Plus, most psychedelics are impossible to get a high from when taken back-to-back.

You mean the trip where she tried paote and got all enchanted with the psycidelic experience? People think "soft drugs" like that are not so bad, But they do slowly wear away their users will to do anything else but use them more. ☹ We know she was sexually abused at a teen, and going through that can often make people's personalities more pliable, and them easier influenced. Throw in some kind of narcotic, and she may, very well, have let her old life just slip away for a new one. 😞

i've been wondering if there are gonna be new videos like "and then some" for example, because i feel like the whole podcast has taken over, and i don't think i'm alone when i say that it doesn't feel the same as it did back in the day, even with nostalgia glasses from being 11 and watching this, i immediately noticed how it doesn't feel the same when i initially started listening to the podcast. i love amanda and i love you alyx, but it just doesn't feel the same. i'm glad you addressed the meredith situation though. love.

the more and more i watch this podcast, the more and more i start seeing that alex doesn’t invite the best people onto her podcast. majority of the time, (not all the time) when she has guests, the episode turns out problematic with the conversations going on. i feel like alex by herself or with amanda was way more entertaining and there weren’t so many issues. i don’t know but this whole episode was off.

I really don’t agree with the joking about beastiality in this episode. I just don’t see how the mental and physical trauma that those animals are forced to experience is funny.
