My wife and I ride together often. One of the more expensive accessories is blue-tooth communicators. Trust me they are worth every dollar spent. its great for keeping an open line of communication during the ride. And it can be a great way to warn the rider or riders of road hazards, unexpected missed turns or scenic lookouts/ breaks for water or rest for you and other riders. your doing great REA

Completly agree with the OP, I guess you got blue-tooth communicators by now as this is a year old, but it not only make the ride more safe, it also make it so much more enjoyable, worth every penny, I like Cardo, but up to you, just make sure it is a waterproof model (yes they do make cheper models that is`t) and noise reduction is also a good feature.

I started riding 2 months ago. My husband bought me a rebel for my birthday and he installed a cardo on my helmet so he can give me riding instructions . It helped me so much and still is. What I mean is that I improved so much in a short period of time because he was there telling me what was wrong, what I could improve, what was going on the road I should be aware of etc…. Now he is more silent 😂 but I feel safer being able to talk to one another if necessary. I really enjoy your videos, so thank you 😊

I personally think a cardo is so expensive, I usually just use my airpods but make sure you don't use the noise cancelling feature to take in some of the environmental sound I keep noise control to be off, if I am going slower with less windnoise, I open the visor just a bit to let in more environmental sounds and air, if I am on highway I close my visor to block out more windnoise. So far it has been working great. One thing tho is that my fit isn't perfect sometimes one of it fall out of my ear mid ride haha. And they usually comes off when you take off your helmet so you gotta find a way to let them fall into your helmet instead of onto the ground

Big part of riding with others is getting a Cardo or similar unit. Having active communication makes things so much easier.

Hi Rea Get a textile motorcycle jacket with vents. It will make a big difference. You can even get them with protective body armor in case you go down. Your riding great! 😀👍

Good advice! Like the others, I would invest in a good pair of intercoms. Other tips I would add, is let others know you are a beginner and what you are struggling with. And if there is 2 beginners in the group, do not place them together in the group, separate them with an experience driver.

*That other rider can't be too experienced - no gloves.* That first time of dropping a bike and your hand(s) touch the pavement and cowhide scrapes and you're thankful it wasn't your skin. That's an experience.

Cardo is actually the brand. I would recommend the Packtalk Edge as it will be compatible with other makes of units. Also has voice commands ( hands free ) there are many reviews and super easy to install and use.
