I went to highschool with Christian. He was just as strange then as he is now. He'd run through the packed hallways of Manchester highschool during period change, and yell "Excuse me! Pardon me!" while pushing everyone out of the way. He had like 2 different shirts and wore the same pair of khakis every day. He also had a giant Pikachu keychain on his backpack. I never knew he'd end up being the most famous person to graduate in my class (2000). Surreal.

They did it because he already waited in jail for longer than he would have been in jail. I think that the corruption lies between the charges he got and the maximum sentence for them that he would have gotten. If the charges werent dropped, they probably would spent no time in prison (again because of already spending it in jail waiting), so the only other conseauence would be to have her legal history tainted or whatever it is called, which probably he doesnt care about

Also Virginia I think it is, I'm British so I'm not too sure but the state Christine did this in, does not have a law against someone rping they're parents really it's a blind spot and a rarity, it's usually siblings or the parents doing it to their offspring. So legally they couldn't give cc a long sentence due to the legal grey area

It’s not the lawyer’s reasoning. It’s the law’s reasoning. He correctly interpreted the relevant laws. One must change the relevant laws if one wishes to keep autistic people in jail

But I think the autistic thing was just to have the case records expunged or sealed or something. The person was released from jail because they had already spent so much time in jail awaiting trial that the penalty for the crime would not even be longer than the punishment already endured

Chris could definitely have severe autism, in which case they should be assigned caretakers. I work in that field, so I'm familiar with the systems in place, but they're severely underfunded and understaffed, so I can see why Chris might not have the support team they seem to need.

The charges were dropped because the sentence for his crime would not have been a longer jail term than he had already endured awaiting trial. He actually endured a more extreme punishment than dictated by law, if I understood the details of this case correctly.

I have adhd and possibly mld 'tism, and I think Chris isn't "high functioning autistic" since he never functioned well into society. He is what happens when a severely neuro divergent person doesn't get the help they deserve mixed with bullying, manipulation and harrasment. Yes the dude is born with a huge dent in the head but he is molded to this abomination of mankind due to his parents and the merciless internet. I think Chris should be locked up into some mental facility with all the data there is on him for him to be studied to use this case to prevent people falling down like this. I don't say he is innocent I say he as much of a victim of himself as of his own environment and self inflicted exposure to the internet. It's just sad and miserable, and thank the lord he didn't hurt any kids and let's hope he doesn't...

They either keep those offenders separated, or people in prison don't always do anything about it. Also if they put her on the women's side forget it, its treated differently and women aren't normally in there for being chomos. I'm not 100% sure what part of prison she was in, probably the men's side, but even so they put predators together in other wings sometimes or keep them isolated so they aren't attacked.

I've done a total of 2 years in different county jails and 3 in state prison and you only see thing like that NORMALLY when you go up to state

Lolcow content is kind of like true crime for me. It teaches me about societal problems, psychology, and the depths of the depravity of humankind. I don't love all the trolling, but it is kind of like a Freudian experiment in real time. It's niche genre and should probably remain that way.

i only learned of chis chan’s existence a few weeks ago but since then have watched at least a few days worth of youtube documentaries and i now know way more than i ever wanted to know about chris chan. ngl being an autistic trans person im absolutely terrified of becoming anything CLOSE to what chris is.

I have three pugs so I’m not judging: i love your pug on a cat tree. Im curious to know if theres a way for them to get up and down, or if thats his spot because when there off if it there crawling in your lap, taking down cords and scraping at the door. As someone that works with individuals with a range of mental and developmental disabilities, I'm conflicted about how to feel about Chris Chan. She clearly needed help long ago and didn't get it. Maybe access to the internet isnt and the safest idea for her.
