I still remember when Erik Cassel died, it was this weird time of the community coming together. Pretty much as quickly as that feeling came, it went. Roblox is a cesspit of its former self

cool fun fact for those who haven't followed ruben sim: he was banned off roblox, partially for spending time showing the very clear risks of the platform, and they are currently sueing him, claiming he is a danger to the platform. He currently has an entire series called Moderation for Dummies where he finds blatantly obvious rule breakers, and shows them off, showing how little roblox's mod team does. give the man support.

I remember playing this game as a kid, when the only popular map was the survive the natural disaster island game. It’s sad how far downhill this game has gone since then.

I'm gonna blame the parents in a lot of these situations - what business does a 4 year old have on a platform like Roblox? Parents have to do their research and restrict their kids Internet access, and yes obvi roblox needs to make some serious changes

Parents 100% need to supervise their kids on the internet, Roblox especially. Many games on there are super predatory. Creating gambling addictions, or pay to win addictions, and also FOMO. I will admit, I play roblox. Alone, but also with a small group of friends and my son plays as well, so it's something we like to do together. But I've made sure to teach my son about internet safety and and I closely supervise him! Also, the more a parent knows about the internet, the more they can teach their kids how to be safer.

Been playing ROBLOX since 2012. I cannot even begin to describe the absolutely heinous things I have seen in the almost 12 years I've been playing. One prime example is the forums. The reason they were shutdown back in 2017 is because someone linked to illegal images of kids. Lots of players, myself included, visited the link thinking they were lying, only to realize they weren't lying and ending up traumatized by what they saw. ROBLOX scrubbed them from the website to try and protect themselves from any liability. It's a real shame because the platform itself is fundamentally amazing. The amount of things that roblox does for developers to make development and making money easier is actually incredible. It's just a shame they had to somehow mess it all up with their incompetence and their greed. Roblox needs to start getting held accountable for the harm they're causing to children.

8:54 Truee!! It takes hours scrolling to find an actual well made to high quality games with passion and care put into it, with little to no Monetization at all! Heck, there is NO Genre Filter because Roblox removed it years ago for some bs reason which makes finding great games an actual nightmare

you cant make money off of traded robux unless you sell it to someone else for real money then trade it to them; roblox only lets you cash out from “revenue”. theres also a hiring tab where you can put up roblox “job listings” and apply for cheap labor

I’ve grown up with roblox and used the platform sparingly throughout my time. I always thought the amount of in game advertising for things you could use robux on was predatory even as a kid. Now as someone looking back on it jeez was I smart. My younger sister still uses roblox and tbh it makes me scared due to the amount of things that are dangerous for kids in a kids game. (She also uses VR chat and that scares me just as much)

as a 20 yr old playing basically everyday recently on mic up and natural disaster and evade, ive noticed some of the worse ppl ive ran into come from roblox, its a game based around for children yet nearly all avatars are sexualized even if its a basic avatar, kids do extremely inappropriate things to others, ive witnessed 18+ ppl do extremely inappropriate things to ppl u can clearly tell are minors and yet no one says anything abt it, if u do u get yelled at and bullied for standing up for wats right, if u say ur over 16 ur called a predator even if u were doing nothing besides sitting on the sidelines with ur friends who are also close to ur age by 1-2 years or told to get a job or get a life, yes its a game based for children but its also a game for all ages, basically everyone ive met are hella toxic to, the robux is a whole another story

when my sister was 9 she KNOWINGLY took my dads credit card and spent $2,000+ on robux to buy some random cosmetic. practically wasted MOST of my dads money that he had on that credit card and we never got that money back.

i was literally talking to my teacher TODAY about how possibly territorial Roblox could get, and how bad it is for many younger kids to be playing with random 40-year-old pedophiles trying to get them to send pictures of them or something along that line.

i’ve been playing for years and it’s a lot of fun. but i’m glad to see other adults realize the very real issues that are still there. as adults playing a kids game it is part of our responsibility to realize WE are the adults and need to look out for the little kiddos that would be targeted by predators.

I am 36, and i still play Roblox, I love that staff. There are really fun maps, i mostly play horror maps, but from time to time i do love it when you build your home or mansion, it relaxes me. I wish i can see my playtime, but I easily have over 2k hours, if more, i play the game for about a decade now.

as someone who plays roblox and doesnt like the state alot of its games are going im very thankful you talked about the extreme issues the platform has. im hoping your coverage leads to more people talking about it which leads to roblox doing something. im worried about the condition of roblox with games like pet simulator 99 setting a president you can break the ToS regarding merch all you want. theres alot more to this rabbit hole of a platform (SaveUGC, the ruben sim lawsuit and the things hes said following the lawsuit, roblox becoming less community focused after going public on the stock market, gamefam, Etc.) and im hoping this video will start people talking about these things and changes start to happen.

It's not safe, which is why I play with my little sister. I'm 28 now, we've been playing it for years. There are players who are inappropriate and even ask for address, credit card, the kids just do it. Even in the dating, they ask for usernames of other social platforms, including game discord channels. I protect while I'm online, but it's super sad they get exposed to horrible stuff.

As a parent I don’t personally let my child on the internet or post pictures but I know so many people who don’t care to monitor their children’s internet usage. So many parents let their 3-12 play this game. It’s so shocking to watch them let these babies play games like doors ect that have all of these horrific images pop up.

on the topic of black markets, theres various discord servers that offer crypto/paypal in exchange for limiteds. I’ve heard that some of these servers are linked to actual crypto servers and the stuff that goes on in them are pretty intertwined. It’s quite the rabbit hole to go down

ive played roblox since 2015, i was like 12. never have a understood the obsession with gambling for the expensive items :| i just played games, bought robux to make my avatar with normally priced items, spent the leftover robux on ingame stuff inside the games i like. just like any other game. it is criminally insane how disgusting people act on this game. it's gotten insanely worse since 2020. i still enjoy the game, but i almost want to distance myself from the game because of how much it's changed, its shameful to be associated with the game and see what happens between children and adults so openly today. it really is a shame the path this game went, but honestly it couldnt have been avoided unless the owners and team cared enough to put in serious, overzealous effort to censor and limit this game to the point where it'd be safe. but, like you said, the main thing roblox associated people care about is money.

Ive been playing roblox since 2016 and I never saw an issue til around 2020. I've always been a bit of a troll and I would mess with people trying to scam, exploit, or break the rules in general. Of course I'm no saint and I break the rules all the time but I've never personally done anything bad. I got a warning for uploading a picture of a chipmunk with a switchblade and a got a ban for cussing on VC without realizing it was on (since I usually play without sound or low sound). I hate how the community has shifted and hope it gets better in time. However, I plan on doing the same thing I've been doing since the start and messing with toxic people or disgusting people trying to do inappropriate stuff on a kids game. (not the entire community is bad btw)

I had a friend that made over $10k selling in-game roblox gems to people over discord. He built a code that had a bunch of accounts joining and combing through the game and collecting gems so he could sell them on. They've recently made it virtually impossible to do that now, though. Although it's only a matter of time before people get around it again 👁️👄👁️
