Hello Doctor Anne 😘 La Roche Posay Toleriane face night cream and day eye cream were my best finds. Being same age as you 😉 my eyes need an eye cream moving forward . I do think my fine lines improved using this along with the Ordinary Argireline Solution (used around the eyes too ). Also COSRX rice overnight mask and Sioris time is running out mist 👍 I do have the Purito toner but the scented version - great product too . Nice to see you back more often now 🥰🤗

Nice summary! You know how to pack a lot of info into a short video, a lot of yt creators could learn that from you :) My faves from 2020: Cleansing: The Inkey List Oat Balm - :) and Clinique Take the Day Off Balm / Oil. I haven't found a fav for the morning cleanse... Toner: I'm from Rice Toner Vit C: Clinique Freshed Pressed 10%, Medik8 C-Tetra Night serums: Medik8 Crystal Retinal, Medik8 Liquid Peptides, Vichy Mineral 89, Elizabeth Arden Hyaluronic Acid Ceramides Capsules Cream: La Roche Posay Toleriane Creme, Klairs Midnight Blue, CeraVe Moisturising Facial Lotion Eye Cream: Avene Physiolift Also - a great discovery - using Pixi Clarity Toner or Paula's Choice 2% BHA on my whole arms and legs! It helps with ingrown hair, structure and different spots! My biggest disappointment: Pyukang Yul products, especially mists, essences, hand cream. All the best for you in this new year!

I haven't tried anything from Murad, but after this video I think I have to give it a go. Although I think it's overpriced here in Poland. 100% agree on The Inkey List - their hyaluronic acid and caffeine eye cream are a godsend, honestly. I haven't had any issues with Pixi vit C serum, but my 2020 Holy Grail is a serum by a Polish company BasicLab - it has vit C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate to be exact), niacinamide, alpha-arbutin, and tranexamic acid. It erased my dark spots, and I had a lot of them. I know I sound like I'm selling sth, but it's just such a great product.

I was going to recommend Soko Glam's own brand vitamin C but then checked where they ship and they seem to ship to almost every border country but not to Germany. Solely based on the ingredient list, it looked like an interesting product with 10% ascorbic + B3, MAP, Arbutin, other antioxidants. I have been using G&G vitamin C for about 8-9 months I am a bit bored of it now - not for any logical reason. It definitely is very stable for a water based serum in a dropper bottle. It is interesting to see people's individual tastes in skincare, especially when they use products consistently and don't swap out every product each month. Out of everything, the Murad moisturiser appeals to me the most. Buffet would be runner up. It is strange that I never hear about Murad products; it could be that most people i follow have an aversion to fragrance. It is very rare to find a moisturiser for oily skin with barrier supporting ingredients. Drunk Elephant Protini has a jumbo size 100 ml now for €93 which makes it much more affordable than the €65 for 50 ml which might be similar but I prefer the ingredient list of the Murad - essentially what I would consider to be the perfect moisturiser INCI wise. KZfaq's algorithm really sucks for people who make consistently well edited and concise videos while favouring content like "doctor reacts/hairdresser reacts/priest reacts", giving the laziest content the most traction. And the new pandemic of people reviewing products without trying them based on ingredient lists so that they can keep up with consumer demand for content and writing products off as bad just because they contain fragrance or alcohol or if they are expensive. I do think some brands are going to try to rip you off by selling a shea butter moisturiser in fancy packaging for a ridiculous price and that should be called out. But I know it is less interesting but balanced reviews and educational content should be valued more. KZfaq is a very disappointing platform in that way. The recommended section is definitely not to my taste. Being aware of people's biases is very important and most won't put in the critical reasoning to note bias. If someone says: "this is a terrible product because it contains [parfum/essential oils/denatured alcohol]" then unless you have done the research and has assessed whether you want to use those ingredients or not you probably shouldn't believe that person 100%. I spent about a year thinking fragrance was bad for everybody because of the dermatologists I was watching and now my attitude is that if a product looks good but has fragrance I will still try it but still avoid it for the most part because some fragrances make my breathing hurt
@DoctorAnne
@DoctorAnne 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t even bother looking at the „trending“ page anymore, none of the content there even remotely interests me. And while I still want to try the G&G serum, I will have to see how much in taxes it is for ordering there - I placed two orders in the UK end of last year and just got a notice that one of my parcels was held in customs and thet I needed to pay 25 € in taxes. Depending on which parcel it is, that is either half of what I paid or exactly what I paid for the products, which would be ridiculous!

@@DoctorAnne well, Geek & Gorgeous are a Hungarian brand so there shouldn't be any taxes. I am hoping I don't get charged tax on my UK order... I kind of think small brands should just break customs declaration laws and lie about the value of the items. I think everyone is confused at the moment about the import tax, including brands. I don't use any product that I used in 2019 / the beginning of 2020 anymore. But I have definitely found products that I love throughout the year: ▪︎Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser (ngl think this will expire before it is empty) ▪︎Moisturiser: Bonajour Green Tea Water Bomb ▪︎Sunscreen: La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid ▪︎Vitamin A: Geek & Gorgeous A-Game (because of price and packaging) Those are really the core products I use. I also like Paula's Choice 2% BHA Gel and Purito Centella Unscented Serum but they are quite replaceable. Isntree 8% AHA Essence is a great hydrating mild exfoliant also. And I do enjoy microcurrent. Hoping that 2021 brings new interesting products/the discovery of old underappreciated products. I tend to feel like there isn't much more to discover at the moment though. Well, I wanted to try Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief only to find out it isn't available in Europe and I kind of want to try Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream (or did, not sure they handled the sunscreen issue as well as Purito has - I have been refunded for the Purito sunscreens). I am wondering what the trending ingredient of 2021 will be. I hope it is not azelaic acid like some people have suggested because why would you buy a cosmetic azelaic acid when it is likely super easy to get a prescription for and when there are better alternatives? I would prefer if the trend was €30 products with multiple actives rather than €10 products, advertising a single active. Let us have the niacinamide, peptides, and retinaldehyde in the same product. I enjoy using the microcurrent device; that would be more of a 2021 favourite if it works out.

I haven´t tried that much new and am way more careful with what I throw at my skin, I guess that is why I tend to stick to old favorites a lot. The Purito serum is... nice? I like it a lot, but am not sure I´d miss if I would run out. The toner though: Amazing!

@@DoctorAnne I have never tried the toner. Toners in the past haven't impressed me and I often stop using them. But the Purito serum doesn't meet my favourites list for sure. Bonajour Green Tea is the best moisturiser I have tried. I might try the Bonajour Green Tea toner but I am not sure it is necessary to use the same ingredients twice. But the moisturiser really made my skin much less reactive and it manages to be lightweight but moisturizing. Pretty impossible to find online from a European retailer though. There is one product that James Welsh recommended that looks great: even prime barrier serum (it is very outside of my budget)

@@DoctorAnne I tend to not worry about hurting my skin and I would like to have 10 steps from an obsessive point of view but everything also needs to serve a purpose for me. I think my current crisis is realising I don't need a hydrating serum when I have a hydrating moisturizer and probably shouldn't keep purchasing/looking for one. I feel like my subconscious is forcing minimalism on me and I don't like it. One thing I have considered is changing to a larger, better funded brand for retinol - e.g. a L'Oreal brand (la roche posay probably) or No. 7 even. Just given that the stability is probably much more reliable even if the % is weaker. Still intend on attempting to ask my doctor for tretinoin and still haven't been to my doctor for 6 years but maybe eventually. Because what is anyone doing really spending so much money on OTC retinoids and cosmetic anti-aging products when long term use of tretinoin is safe? It is confusing to me that none of the celebrities on these KZfaq night time routine videos use tretinoin and very few use retinol
