Been using it all weekend, works like a charm. I've got 6L of clear casting resin on the way, so I've got a cool project coming up with it soon! Keep an eye on Pickles, I'm sure they'll have something come up in QLD at some stage.

Already got the search bookmarked. The best I can find in Townsville is an old school horizontal band saw. It's not great but at least they have something

You'll find the time it takes you to make something is far decreased when you get one. The old triton sped things up a heap, now the new table saw... This weekend I knocked out the boards to go underneath the island bench, a new front for my dishwasher, most of a new remote control table (bedside table thing), and a few other jobs. And still plenty of playstation :D

Looks like a great buy. I brought a cheap table saw that had so many issues but once I built it into a new table it's doing a great job. The new table is the same height as my work bench so the timber sides on to it and then I can start building.

I saw a lot of the GMC table saws for sale in my hunting (had a saved search on gumtree), I don't think they were good with all the ones coming up on there. What sort of table saw did you get?
@BirdSpyAustralia
@BirdSpyAustralia 7 жыл бұрын
It was a cheap Ryobi from Bunnings and it looks like they no longer have them. It was poorly designs but it worked fine once I built the new table for it. The table also brings it up another 200mm which is a great height for me but not the average height person. All my work benches are about 1250mm to the top.

The scriber is on back to front, it should spin towards the main blade. You will need to trust the scriber belt into a figure 8 and that should put more tension on it and solve all your problems! And a tip, don’t ever spray lube on the sliding table tracks, just clean them.

Hey bud . I noticed that the scoring blade was installed facing the wrong way .I watched a Felder sliding table saw video and the scoring blade is supposed to cut in the opposite direction of the main blade . Try flipping the blade around . Hope this helps .

get a manual, for best safety and maintenance. I’d stay to left of saw and keep hands away from path of blade. very nice saw, but the safety principles are a bit different. check alignment of fence and sliding assembly. Marius Hornberger has a video on setup.

Hi, I’m from Argentina. I have bought the same table saw that you have (used). I would like to know how many of these Plastic black stripes with metallic cylinders has your sliding. Mine has 6 (3 in each side) linked together but I’m afraid that some has been lost.

I used to use an SMC version of this years ago in a Cabinet shop I worked in. They are great little saws. Good buy! The large blade in the video is for cutting melamine panels or other sheet goods that are a composite. Cutting plywood or solids with it is a good way to make it blunt rather quickly. Your better off not running the scoring blade unless you are cutting composite panels. THe trick to setting them up is take notice that the teeth are trapezoidal (Usually) and you set the depth so that the scoring blade takes a tiny bit wider bite than the main balde. Check to see that you sliding table is actually square to the blade. You can do this by cutting a piece of material square by rotating the cut 90 degrees each time. But to do that you need a cross cut bar the afix to the sliding table.

Good information, thanks for sharing. I do need to get some sharper blades again! My home sharpening isn't up to standard. I hardly ever use the scoring blade, forget it's there most of the time.

Is your scoring blade on the wrong way.... cuts underside so maybe running it backward hence won't cut proper :)
@ADHDbuilt
@ADHDbuilt 7 жыл бұрын
I'll spin it around, see how it goes!
@MrPatdeeee
@MrPatdeeee 7 жыл бұрын
It may not help to turn the scoring blade around. For it appears that the rotation is backwards also. But then it may have been designed that way. I have never seen a scoring blade facing that way and spinning that way. But then who am I?
@jaredsass7152
@jaredsass7152 7 жыл бұрын
I don't know what that little scoring blade is or what it's for, but it seems everyone is saying it's spinning the wrong direction. If you want it to rotate in the opposite direction of the main blade, can you just twist the little belt driving it into a figure-8 and slip it back on? If it will go on that way and not bind up, that would do the trick. Then you would just need to figure out which direction the teeth should point.
@neilbarnwell
@neilbarnwell 6 жыл бұрын
If you look at modern fancy expensive European saws like Felder etc, you'll see they often have this feature. I'm pretty sure the direction of cut is meant to be the opposite to the main blade, because it's only meant to very lightly score the underside to avoid tearout (literally the scoring blade just barely cuts the material). The blade as a result should be the opposite way around to the main blade to match. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bM6Vm9SJnLvZZXU.html

The scoring blade is for cutting the veneer on the underside of the plywood so that the main blafe doesn't chip the veneer.

The scarring blade should installed in what looks like the backward direction. NOT in the same cutting direction as the main blade. And try as linked-belt.

Thanks for the feedback. It's just the blade won't spin in any other direction, it'll only spin in the same direction as the cutting blade.

If you twist the belt that runs the scoring blade it will change the direction that the blade runs, i.e: twist it over to form a shape like an ‘8’
