Bro, you have a washing machine in your garage just for them towels, genius! Every time I bring my towels up to our laundry room I hear "don't put them there" or things that nature, and then she tossed them anywhere in the garage

I got tired of the same thing. A few times left my bucket near the washing machine and she thought she was helping me out and washed them with regular detergent and fabric softener. It’s one of those dorm type units. Cost a little over $200 for a good one. It’s awesome to let them soak on a rinse so I don’t have to rinse them out by hand. Spin cycle gets them 85% dry then I just hang them up.

I've watched many of your videos over the last year but haven't commented until recently. I'll admit, I'm not one that have ever been into washing my car. But I that comes from growing up in a major city, DC and not having a convenient way to do so. I'm new to having a pressure washer in the past year, been watching house cleaning videos and what else you can do with a pressure washer, hence how I found your channel. I like the progress of seeing the wash carts, the wall mounted setup and now the garage wash bay. I can't say I have as much enthusiasm to washing cars but I do enjoy the foam. I got a cheap foam cannon to spray cleaner onto surfaces i wanted to clean. Then realized maybe get one to wash my car. I don't get great foam but then started upgrade my cheap electric Amazon unit. Got a hose, quick connects, in line filter, though nothing like yours with resin. Got foam cannon, good soap. I'm still not there yet to wash my car often but far from where I was when growing up and having to carry a bucket out to the street or in the alley. I say that as you're right, if you make it enjoyable and easier you will wash your car more, I'm proof of that. Don't have to go all expensive and get everything. I do wish I had a better pressure washer and foam cannon, so I'm hoping to win the giveaway. Lol But I agree, it's therapeutic and for me it's more seeing things go from dirty to making them clean. I even took my setup to a friend's home and washed 3 friends cars over the weekend I'm sore all over, especially arms and legs but i feel good helping them clean their rides they use everyday. Plus it was nice having a reason to use my setup for the first time this year. When my muscles recover, I'll wash mine. Especially after being attacked by neighboring mulberry trees, ugh a pain. But just another reason to wash it. I guess I rambled on, but wanted to just say I enjoy your videos and have subscribed. I don't just subscribe to any channel but to ones I enjoy their content. I have to get these tire brushes, that's my next step and good microfiber towels. I see these two bucket methods and all these processes out there. I'm quite a 1 bucket and make it simple so can get it done but enjoy it person. So, really related to this video. I enjoy the bloopers too, i find it so genuine and relatable as we all make mistakes.

This makes doing the videos so worth it. I started the channel as a way to deal with my social anxiety. It just kept progressing and my passion for car washing just kept growing along with the channel. I am the same way I don’t subscribe to that many channels and rely on my recommended to show me what I’m interested in. I’ve started out the same way I would say though I may progress faster than most, but that’s my addictive personality as I go all in. If you ever have any questions hit me up on Instagram or Facebook @carswithkeav I carry regular conversations with many of my subscribers when looking to upgrade and understand all that’s needed or what to get.

Just so much quicker and way less worry about swirls. The microfibers I am using are basically that just a rectangle. Very small drying towel so I didn't have to cut up. Its a great idea though. Do you have any issues with it wanting to come unraveled when cutting it?

@@CarsWithKeav I used an electric fabric cutter so cutting brought up no issues. I used the drying towel from Walmart the gray and red one. This is my strategy for every wash at this point. Ill do a buck with 4 gals in it and a handful of microfibers ( I’ll just use Costco for cars I’m going to polish anyways, but I’ve seen really no issues on my coated vehicle on tests with Costco microfibers either) and soap to the correct dilution. This way I can cap the bucket and use the solution for up to about a week adding more clean microfibers when needed. I’ve washed 5 cars on one bucket this way. Im interested in those microfibers, they look very nice and if they are anything like the drying blanket I’m sure I’ll love them
@CarsWithKeav

Logically the multiple mitts/towels makes the most sense in minimizing scratching. I still haven’t pulled the trigger on DI system. Like you alluded to the resin refill. $ It’s like ink for a printer.I’ve been doing final rinse using distilled water in foam cannon. It cleans out nozzle at same time. Keep up the great work brother.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav Жыл бұрын
That’s a great idea Anna. I might have to try running my foam cannon on final rinse to get a good soaking and clean out the unit. DI is exactly like printer ink problem is depending on your water depends how many times you got to replace that ink cartridge. 🤣

If I had an indoor wash area like in my garage, I'd probably end up sticking with just a normal pressure hose to avoid all the misting in the air. But then again, once you get that split unit installed, it probably will knock that down quite a bit. Washing in a covered climate controlled area is the dream haha.
@CarsWithKeav

You really only need pressure for wheels and tires. It’s nice to have for the pre-soak as well. I have found the final rinses a good soaking spray works well. Split A/C I have researched is really good and removing humidity from the air.

I don't even use a bucket. I just use a Karcher with variable nozzle and Chamois. I use the Karcher's soap dispenser and when rinsing the chamois i do it in my hand by turning the nozzle to medium. I dry with the same chamois and get good results. Between sprays i just hang the chamois over the handle of the machine. For me doing it this way when i rinse the chamois the dirt goes straight onto the floor and im not dunking my cloth in a bucket with suspended dirt.
@CarsWithKeav
@CarsWithKeav 6 ай бұрын
I have a video doing it this way as well! It’s a very valid process. One bucket method like this you won’t have suspended dirt as you never put the dirty one back into the bucket. It’s just another step to add some safety with scratching. When washing off the mitt in your hand you can’t guarantee you got all the dirt particles out, but it’s a very low risk.
@bravestarr1797
@bravestarr1797 6 ай бұрын
@CarsWithKeav I see you used a mitt in that video if it was the one that you are referring to. Usually, nothing sticks to a chamois when you rinse it because of its surface, but with microfiber, things get trapped in those fibers like little metal burs, tiny bits of broken dry leaves, paint chips, dirt etc. and are difficult to rinse out even using a bucket. Also if a microfiber cloth falls on the floor you need to chuck it.

I love the Chemical Guys buckets and either the Gamma lids or the Leaktite ones. They are slightly smaller at 3.5 gallons and love them being see through. You can get two for 19.99 on Amazon amzn.to/3SjKZdZ The gamma lids are $12 on Amazon amzn.to/3SilDNv You can go even cheaper at Home Depot their Leaktite screw on lid is like $9 and a somewhat see through 3.5 gallon bucket is $8. I hate the bigger buckets as I have never needed all that liquid and saves soap. I use the lids to save whatever is left for the next wash. Get the bucket dollies from Walmart they are $15 each. No bucket setup on earth is better than another if you ask me it’s just about capacity and maybe wheel dolly caster quality.

Love your wrapped BMW! What kind of ceramic coating are you thinking 🤔 about! I’ve been want to try some of the DIY products. How do you like them? I’m getting ready to purchase me a new ride and thought about using one ☝️ brand on my new ride! Great job buddy 👏✨💦

I really like their products. They formulate them To be easy to use for DIY guys. I will be putting their 8 year coating on as it has the best dirt repellent properties. Will be topping with their quick beads which has grapheme that will help with water spotting. Good luck and congrats on the new purchase.

This is my process now with eagle edgeless

I was using eagle edgeless 500 before this, but switched because the eagle was just unraveling when washing. This new type doesn’t do that so far.

One mit one bucket. Mrico swirling will happen no matter what. You cant prevent it. You'll have to polish the panit eventually. You are just making more work for yourself. All the old time detailers dont used multiple buckets and multiple towels or mits. There is no proof anywhere thats says 2 bucket method or multiple towels is better for not getting mirco swirling. My father had a dodge ram washed with one bucket and one mit with very little micro swirling for over 20 years. If you have a dirt trap the dirt should be trapped in the bottom of the bucket.

Hard to compare different types of cars as the softness of the paint is the main reason some don’t show swirls as easily. Polishing over time reduces clear coat. Eliminating the chance of not getting all the dirt out of the mitt is why I do it this way. If you can prolong not having to polish then mission accomplished. We all have our opinions, but there have been many tests that prove not reusing wash media prevents scratching.

@CarsWithKeav heavy swirl damage is from drive through car washes we all know that. The the general public doesn't care about their car and will continue to use those car washes.. they're cheaper and it cleans good enough for the general public. If you take care of your mitt it's highly unlikely you are creating swirls heavy enough for the eye to see. I've been told polishing isn't cutting the clear. That's why you use a cut compound to cut the clear. To start with a gritty compound and work your way to a finish compound, polish and wax. That's how I was taught

@@SUPERBDETAILEDIT I was always told polishing out swirls levels the clear coat to where it is no longer visible. It doesn’t take off like a compound does, but clear has to be removed to get rid of the scratches unless you are using fillers.

@@CarsWithKeavthat's what polish is. It just helps fill the imperfections and polish out the "sanding marks" from the compound.

@@SUPERBDETAILEDIT If you are using a filler polish then yes, but todays detailing world the word “polish” is very broad and has everything from wax type fillers to mild compounds.

Why not just buy a detail factory tire brush with the soft rubber guard it has built in?

I have looked at it, but the edge would still be in the way so would have to modify. Other have mentioned this one so might have to try it out. Mainly my current one has worked amazing for years and is exactly the way I need it to work. Change is always good though. Thanks for the suggestion.

@@bizmofunyuns6463 Funny thing I have one in front of me right now. I bought every cheap type of swivel spray gun that is out there and got the essential and Yamatic stainless as well. Will be a big 7 spray gun swivel battle. Initial thought the essential is nice, but heavy and the trigger has a lot of tension. I will be doing all kind of testing including measuring trigger tension. This is comparing to an SGS28 though so might be a bit spoiled with that one. 🤣
