I needed to see this. I got ejected real hard 2 weeks ago and I'm fairly certain I separated my AC joint. I'm still able to skate to an extent, but can't push my luck. Hitting the gym is a hell no. I feel like a fat sack of shit, but I'm putting faith into rehab and just enjoying what I can do on my board.

glad you uploaded this, still a beginner but i learned a couple tricks today before tearing a ligament in my ankle. already know i'm gonna be super rusty hopping back on the board

I think relearning a trick is worse than learning it. Depending on the trick it affects the psychological. Especially those that were "easy" to hit and suddenly you stop hitting them and you don't know why. And it becomes more uncomfortable as you get older (I'm almost 50). I went through this process and now I have more patience and awareness of all this. I started walking again with more desire after I understood this. Learn, relearn and repeat. This quote is from Dave Mayhew, it saved me from retiring from skateboarding.

I was inspired to try a pair of converse one stars. I went a half size down like everyone says and the first day of skating (they skated amazing) they rubbed the back of my heel raw. Common issue?

It’s happened to me before. I put my aftermarket insole in, and took a 3 mile walk, to break them in. Got a big blister on my heel. Now, I just leave the stock insole in, when I walk to break them in, and don’t swap soles until it’s time to skate them. I also wear them true to size now, instead of half a size down. Haven’t had the blister since.
