It baffles me how we can end up feeling like there's no exit at all from the point in life we're at, when I reality there's multiple different ways to tackle our problems, I also, like Jaren, have been improving a lot in life since I watched his "27 years old and never had a Girlfriend" video but I've improved thanks to totally different things and people to what he mentions in this video, there's always hope, and I haven't gotten a relationship yet, but I'm pretty sure getting it is not the solution to the problem for most people like us.

Only difference is we pick heavy stuff up and then put it back down when we're done. Try it out, worst case scenario you won't like it, best case scenario it helps you even more. Just like it did with me, a few years ago. 39 now, started at 34, it's never too late... :P

Be careful comparing yourself to the older alternate reality you, think about the great man you can become not the depressing guy you could devolve into. I really believe you can become a really competent man, someone who people want to have around them, someone who can help others and doesn't need rescue himself. That's the alternate reality you need to focus on.
