Proverbs 23:17 really spoke to me! Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. It's so easy especially with social media to be jealous of what other people have or are doing regardless of how they obtain their status. This reminds me to always continue to fear the Lord & do right, because HE is the ONE who rewards me not man.

The Holy Spirit convicted me about following non believers on social media because its just a distraction and as a Christian what are you admiring when you follow people who are not saved, what do you learn from them. The word Follower means alot, come to think of it,following someone who is a non follower of Christ?

I can barely keep the tears from my eyes! I live in a dysfunctional family! I hang up on my brother when I was at the store shopping for him. I called because I dropped his list, but I knew there was only one item left. I couldn't at the moment think of what it was so I called him. He was angry and he had not remember what it was either and he began to tell me I always mess up! So I hung up. I know he is frustrated because he can't do as he likes. And your right about picking up their ways. I'm more angry. I remember what it was an I bought it! My life was always like this. If I wasn't treated bad at home, I was as a child at school. Now that I am older I was at work. I have always been taken advantage of. Even as a child I was molested! I'm in counseling and I was told I need to set boundaries! It's hard for me to do this, but I am trying. I have days that I desire that I never been born. I don't even want to go on! I fight my wrong desires and want to be what God wants, but I feel I never can! 🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌😖😭😭😭😪

The second-to-last point reminded me of this scenario: One person stands on a chair while the other stands on the ground. The person in the chair tries to pull up the person on The ground, while the person on the ground tries to pull the person on the chair down. Anytime we did this exercise at church, the person on the ground always won the fight. Even if we think we are strong enough to withstand the hostile person, The scripture tells us not to think of ourselves as stronger than we actually are, lest we fall. It also says the pride comes before the fall. We should always rely on God for strength and obey His Word.

This video is extremely inspiring because we as Christians need to teach Christian lifestyle just as much as we need to teach the Scriptures themselves, because the lifestyle part of it is putting the Scripture to practice in your everyday life, which is really important to understand.

I've been going through Proverbs for years. I actually found my "life verse" in Proverbs 16:9 (NASB) -- "The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps." I can try to make the best plans for myself, but God's direction will always be far superior to mine. He will even do (and has done) things that go beyond anything I could ever plan for myself! Praise the LORD!

I got a lot from Proverbs 23, I LOLed at the sparring the child with the rod verse, I gained a lot of insight of still being a left when having dinner with influential people, I gained insight on why we need to listen to our mothers and fathers, and what got me personally are the verses about mixed wine. I'm turning 22 soon and I told myself that I would give it a year to decide if I should drink or not. My parents are taking me to a winery for my birthday/Mother's Day (it falls on the same weekend) and I was thinking, why not just have a glass. Proverbs 23: 29-33 reminded me of the emotional and mental dangers of that

Reminds of my time at U Turn for Christ. Every morning before breakfast we had to pick a proverb that correlates with the day of the month and explain why it spoke to us in our current situation. The only downside was there was twenty or so guys and you’d be studying one waiting your turn and someone before you would take the one you had picked. Lol then you had to pray for another one to jump out at you. It always worked out. God bless.

God directed me to this video as I was trying to figure out what to study this morning. LOL So thank you for your obedience. I'm also asking for prayer and direction about my job and my finances. I am on disability and I've been trying to work as well. I've been working as a PCA for friends, but found some temptations there and I decided not to go back. However, I live in a rural area but right nowthere aren't really many jobs I am able to do. Part of the reason I'm on disability is because I have had trouble keeping a iob. After about 1 1/2 years, either I have been let go by my employer due to some weird circumstance, sickness or I get bored and find another job. I've always have done excellent at my jobs, get certificates and have various commendations, etc. from employers. I recently came across an article in a magazine that sounded just like me. The magazine had to do with Attention Deficit disorders. I am using resources to improve myself and asking God to help me. I really want to do something about this situation and to have enough finances to get my bills all paid. I just feel like I'm spinning my wheels in the financial department no matter what I try to do. If you would be so kind as to pray for me, I would be grateful.

It is not the 23rd, but I followed your prompt and read Proverbs 23 just now. Thanks for that urging - it is never a bad thing to spend time in scripture! Time spent with God or in His Word is always worth its weight in gold. My biggest takeaway was the recurrent theme to be self-controlled. To value wisdom, to remain steadfast in the tried-and-true ways of the Lord, and to be mindful and purposeful in the effort to hold one’s self back from the excesses and habits of the worldly. It is SO easy to get caught up in this world and then to fall down the slippery slope of wanting more, more, more of this world, and thereby desiring God and His kingdom less and less. It is a sneaky and easy trap to slip into, so the exhortation to “carefully observe” at the beginning of the chapter, and to hold one’s self back from whatever is most tempting to us as though with a knife at our own throat, is so valuable

Thank you so much for sharing this. I get overwhelmed thinking that I’m not a mature Christian if my morning routine is this simple. There’s a lot of pride in believing we’re more advanced or closer to God due to what our quiet times entail, it’s refreshing that someone as mature in their faith as you can encourage all of us to just make it about God’s word and prayer.
