The closest thing to crows in Hawaii are maybe the mynah birds. There are larger various types of seabirds that can be found on some parts of Oahu and also some wild peacocks in the central part of the island.

I agree about the paper texture! When I was in high school I was sketching all of the time on the loose leaf, so creamy lol I use mixed media for sketch books because I can’t stand drawing paper 🤢

Love your work! Your style is so unique and crisp! I try to draw and paint from references but I still want to have a more solid understanding of anatomy from memory. What would you suggest I try?

God cell phones are great for references! Remember the old days when we had to use books and magazines? lol
