Congratulations 👍🏼 and great video. I’m in the process of an automatic to manual swap with the TKX 600 for my 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Pretty pumped for this.

What size clutch and flywheel did you use, any modifications to the drive shaft? I currently have a stock t56, thanks!

Have you been able to shift it really hard yet? I'm debating getting this but I power shift and drag race a lot. I didn't like the TKO600 what soever.

I want to upgrade to this but I pray it’s not like the tko 500 I have. Driving around normal it’s great the 2/3 shift at 6700 is iffy at best sometimes it’s goes in sometimes you hit the gate in the middle. I hate it. I read all the specs on this and sounds what I want. I hope it is what I think it is 👍🏻

I purchase my TKX from modern driveline and it looks like I have maybe a month wait switching from a top loader 4 speed to a TKX can’t wait.

Silver Sport Transmissions is the only company that has a aftermarket short throw shifter for the TKX

What shift knob are you using? I really like the look of it and I’d also like to know your thoughts on the Tremec TKX now that you’ve had it in the car for a year, I’m considering maybe once the AOD in my 87 mustang GT goes out and I don’t want to mess with another in maybe 3 or 4 years I want to swap my car to a TKX since it seems to be a better option than the normal Borg Warner T5 or the World Class T5 that LMR sells

I’d recommend it 100x over. Super good transmission! Shift ball is just a Hurst!

What supporting parts do you already own? Bell housing and driveshaft are different. TKX is 23 3/4" and T56 is 27 3/8" length, different shifter locations, smaller case diameter. I just ordered my upgrade from the TKO600 to the TKX for a few reasons, one being case dimensions to fit better in my 65 mustang and give better driveline angle. Second being the shift quality...according to a couple suppliers they "stole" the technology from their T56 and made a 5-speed out of it.

Personally I was going with the 6 spd but then I thought I don’t need 2 overdrives, longer trans not sure if weight even makes a difference. Maybe if you plan on going over 110 mph for a while than t56 if just cruising, hot rodding occasional 1/4 mile runs I’ll go with 5spd. Just my 2 cents

Is it a close ratio (2.87) or wide ratio (3.27) first gear?

The TCET 17765 (which he has) is a 2.87 1st gear.

It's hard to tell from the video but how many shims are between the crossmember and the transmission mount?

@@cobrabuilt sorry to be a pain. So if each shim is about a quarter-inch, you have about a half inch of clearance between the crossmember and the transmount correct?

Nope, center console was a option and my car is a base base model car. Didn’t come factory with the center console

10 spline vs 26 spline. Which and why?

Either will work. I’ve always heard that 26 spline input shafts are stronger. Best bet would to be to call TREMEC and ask! They offer both!
