She is still going strong but now she has retired she is taking it a little steadier now

What is your Mondy, is it the T5? If it is, how up to being thrashed is it? I have driven Mk3 V6's since owning my first one from almost new back in 2003. 19 years on and while my current V6 is low mileage and hope to have it for some time yet, i have to look into the future and i cant decide if i will abandon the brand to get another V6 and maybe even rear wheel drive :) having been a lifelong ford driver since 92 its a tough call but im not a fan of turbos but i love my fords but ford dumped the V6 which has kept me from buying a mk4 for all these years :(

Mine is a Mk4 2009 1.8 TDCi, it has now got 180000 miles. I have owned it from 60000 and put 100000 miles on it during my officer response career many of these on blue light runs. I am now in a role completing nearly 500 miles a week and she is still going. I considered a new car but can't justify it when my beloved Mondy is still comfortable, reliable, returning 49 mpg and still looks quite good. I have fully serviced it every 10000 miles which I think has helped keep her going. Only big issue has been a new EGR valve. She is doing me proud.

I do need to say that unfortunately my beloved Mondeo has had to go to the great scrap yard in the sky. I came home one night to a horrible noise from the clutch/DMF.....turns out i needed a new clutch, dual mass flywheel, and other stuff, not worth the cost £2000.......so i got myself a new car.....2.0l tdi mondeo STI line, she is great, love her......

@@EmergencydriveUK ahh, the dreded DMF, mine has a SMF but some of the later V6's are DMF and all of the TDCi's are, when they fail it writes the car off because of the cost even though the rest of the car is fine. What engine did your mk4 have in it? I have my eye on the 2.5T titanium x sport :)

@Steve Fox I had a 1.8, she writhed well if you kept the revs up. Perfect for response as you need to keep in lower gears for better control, top speed not really needed as very rare would a non police responder need to go faster than 80ish
