The only thing we want for our birthdays is to know that you were paying attention when we casually mentioned how much we love the carousel horse on top of the antique music box in the window of that little obscure shop in some tiny town we drove through one time 12 years ago. It’s not that hard…😂

My mother gave me excellent advice: Men are not subtle, and do not take hints or read between the lines like women do. If you want something, tell him! I literally sent my husband links to several things I wanted last Christmas season, and told him I wanted one of those. Bless that man; he bought me everything on the list. 😅❤

I made my husband a PowerPoint with links and he didn't buy anything on it. He stated "that's an insult to my gift giving skills I can pick out something that you'll love". He bought a hammock chair because "I love hammocking". In the previous year I fell out of a hammock, broke my spine in 8 places and was temporarily paralyzed. Needless to say I don't love hammocks anymore.

For reals, I needed this video 22 years ago for my husband. I was sadly disappointed many years, especially my first birthday with him. The loaf of banana bread was sweet, but that was NOT my Idea of a present from my new husband. It took many years to figure out what the other person truly loved.

I’m 48. I’m impressed you give it to him and he wraps it. Now my husband asks me a week before my birthday if I want something and I tell him, “You don’t have to go get me anything - I already got it.” Then he kind of gets this concerned look cause whatever I got is probably pretty valuable. This year it’s the VIP tickets to see Stone Temple Pilots. I’ve been waiting for over 30 years to see them as I didn’t get to as a college student. They finally have a great lead singer once again. I too forgot how old I was for a year or 2. Love this skit.

Last year, my husband was walking through the living room carrying something. I asked him, “What is that?” His answer, “Your birthday gift to me. I bought it yesterday.” Whew, shopping done! 😅 This actually works for us.

I always tell my husband I want experience based presents. Things like a fun date, spa gift card, go somewhere fun as a family but he has to wrangle the kids.

When she says "you don't have to get me anything" it's a Trap! What she really means is what Penn said imitating Kim. Love the use of the chalkboard to decode what a woman says. Being single I buy myself what I want throughout the year but I try to not do that the month of my birthday or Christmas.

I forgot what year I was born. I put the wrong year on some official documents and had to go through a whole thing. So that was fun 😂 I buy my own gifts and just tell my husband what he got me. The last time he tried to pick stuff out I got extension cords and a pair of poultry shears for the kitchen. I don’t touch raw chicken so not sure what he was thinking.

My mom does the same thing. Every holiday she orders her own gift then pretends that she doesn't remember what it is. We wrap it. Less than a week before said holiday she decides she wants something different 😄We always get a surprise gift and then it's up to her if she likes either one. We love her, she loves us...We've done our best 🤗

I literally had this talk with my 8 yr old daughter yesterday. I forgot I was still 47 and turning 48 in November. But the sad thing is the convo started with me saying I was 46…she said “no you’re 48” (her 3rd grade math skills were in point she just hadn’t considered it being month dependent) I figure I’ll just ask her when I need to know from now on.😂

My oldest daughter finally gave me a perfect system to figure out how old I am. She was born the day before my 22nd birthday, and I always remember how old she is, so I just have to add 22 to her age and I know how old I am!

This was PERFECT timing! My Birthday is tomorrow (4/18)! I say the same thing... Don't get me anything, because I just get it for myself anyway! I've been married for 32 years and I think he's only gotten me 2 things that I really ever liked! LOL I'm happy with buying myself my own gifts because I get what I want! hahahaha I also tend to forget how old I am as well... I actually ask my hubby how old I am all the time... My wife and I have been together for 23 years we are mid 50's and over the last few years if we see something that we would want for birthday gifts or even Christmas we buy it give it to the other and they know to store it away til Christmas or Birthday. Less drama trying to find something for each other.

I just had my 70th birthday. I am 70 freaking years old and do you think my husband of 41 years got me anything ? Noooo. If it wasn’t for my DIL we would not have gone out to eat at one of my favorite restaurants. She made the reservation 6 weeks ago. I guess I will go buy myself something.

My parents do that exact same thing with each other! They each buy things they want throughout the year, but they keep them packaged and stored away until Christmas so that the other person has things to give to them. It's kinda goofy but super sweet, and it works well for them.

We have been married for almost 44 years. We have what is called a "No Buy Zone". It is one month before "holidays" (e.g. Father's Day), birthdays, and Christmas (this kind of sucks for me since my birthday is in November). You cannot buy ANYTHING that could be considered a "gift" for yourself and must tell your partner that there is something you want. It is now April, and my wife wants some Alpaca slippers. She can't just buy them, but she told me she wants them. So guess what she is getting for Mother's Day?

What's more funny, is evey birthday, Christmas and mother's day that he thinks to ask me what I want, I tell him "more hooded sweatshirts!" (And I mean it...the kids steal them!). I think I'm going on year 3 of asking for hooded sweatshirts (only when he asks what I want) and I still haven't gotten one. Usually lately I don't even get a card either. I'm not complaining..just, wow, I think that might beat Penn's adhd!
