I always wondered how you tell which is which. Head and the stripe. That makes sense. Didn't know about the false eggs either. Super informative video on the anole. Cool that you got to adopt one.

Love your lizards. I have two green Anoles of my own in with four brown Anoles, one green swift and eight five line skinks and never have a problem with them fussing. I guess it's because my biggest male skink runs around like a cop keeping everybody in line that gets out of order. Anyway nice video and God bless.

I noticed you don't you hold or touch them. I've read somewhere not to hold them but I don't believe it's better not to when they're your pets. I have green and brown anoles I've always held them and they've bonded with me. They're not afraid of me, they even come to me. Most the time when I try to put them back in the cage they turn around and run up my arm lol. Especially my big male brown anole. He is actually very affectionate, he's just too cute. My green boy that I take out a lot, I've put him on my bed headboard at night and he just stays there next to me. The brown male does the same sometimes but then he gets curious and I find him laying in a different spot. But it's just so awesome when they just get on your hand and don't run away. I see your green babies are scared of you and they'll stay that way even though you're the person that feeds them, etc. Hold them, seriously. At first they'll want to jump off your hand but after a few times they'll be attached. They train very easy, especially green anoles as they're very docile. I also give my babies kisses and they'll lick my hand often, as they do with some surfaces to check them out, but I'm convinced when they do it to me it's affection. The observed behavior when I am being affectionate tells me they're being affectionate as well, as they're just laying on me and not doing anything else but laying there and looking at me. And some like being pet, some only certain spots like behind the ears. One of mine doesn't care for head petting but he likes behind the ears.

A hint for anoles...this time of the year many will slow down on eating, I started using 5 drops of liquid calcium per cup of water to mist with. My guys have a bowl of feeders with gutload in there but I think they are hitting my isopods and the million of fff in there.

Okay so I have a question. I have a green anole that looks exactly like that female one that you showed me, but I noticed she or maybe he has a very small dewlap. I’m not sure if females can have a dewlap that is small or if my lizard is an adolescent lizard because my lizard is small and has a small nose and has the green stripe. Also I haven’t seen any mating happening between that anole abs my male anole. They live very happily together though, no fighting. So I’m very curious what is going on.

My male has had a stripe since I got it, once mating season started the would come and go. Also my girl has one too. Some say that the line on the males don't go all the way down the tail, which is true for him. Stubby, my female I can't say as she only had a pencil tip when I bought her.
