Expert nutritionist debunks 6 food and drinks myths, that people will be shocked about.
Richie Kirwan, an expert nutritionist, takes us through 6 common myths, that need to be debunked. While some of these myths can be really well known in the general population, some are really specific and only circulate in online nutrition communities. Those communities often act like echo chambers where people keep hearing the same bad information over and over again until they believe it as fact.
The problem with fake news like that is that it can be really hard to get people to unlearn it, which is often something they need to do to make progress with their nutrition. Hopefully, some of these will help you make better nutritional choices in your day-to-day life.

A comprehensive guide on complimentary proteins would be useful. If they should be counted as part of your daily protein intake? Which food types compliment others to complete the chain? Grains, pulses, legumes etc... maybe some useful combinations that can be easily slipped into a healthy and balanced meal? There's alot of content online about it, but its knowing which to follow and believe.

Another great vid. Thanks. You might have covered it already but some info on the myth that seed oils are toxic to humans would be useful. Too much false info on the net about this.

It would be interesting to get your take on Himalayan rock salt having far less micro plastics than regular table salt? Seems to be a big concern in the health/biohacker community.

If you have access to a microscope, it isn't too hard to do. Dissolve the salts (get multiple brands, especially ones from foreign places) in water, and put drops on slides. You'll see the microplastics pretty clearly. They're typically long strands. Of course, not everyone has the time, money, or access for doing something like that, so I agree. It is a great idea for a video!

I wish people would learn to read studies, and learn basic terms to get the context and figure the harder words out so misinformation stops spreading so fast. Yes, it takes more time to understand and research, but dont rush your body! Your body deserves that extra time versus wasting time with false information that cam be... bad for you, if not neutral. Thank you, Myprotein. You have wonderful videos, and they're all for free too. You actually care for people and in turn, their health.

A glass of lemon water each morning can help with weight loss if you keep your lemons seveal miles away from where you sleep. It also works better if the lemons are at a higher altitude than your bed. It's a scientific mystery.

Yes. right .. and I read Omega 6 fatty acid also known as CLA is more in grass fed beef than omega 3 this is also be mentioned I think..

Hi Richie, I have a question. I'm trying to maintain a low calorie high protein diet.. Is it okay to consume 150g of soy protein powder a day if I still eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and my other macros are met? I'm having like 4 protein shakes with some fruits and one whole meal a day.
