Today, I'm continuing to read from Charles Squire, about the Tuatha Dé Danann. This broadcast features the story of the coming of Lugh, and the Fate of the Children of Tuireann. It was broadcast live on the Mythical Ireland Facebook page ( / mythicalireland . I'm hoping to make this a regular broadcast.
In a bid to keep us all distracted from the coronavirus scare, and in an effort to stem the boredom for a lot of people who are not at work, I came up with the idea of doing a live story-telling or myth-reading broadcast.

Thanks for these Antony. Really enjoyed hearing the old stories . Not speaking the language myself I always get frustrated reading the stories and legends because I struggle with pronunciation. Great job , it certainly took my mind of the news.🍀👍

I love the crossover with the greek mythology. I doubt Hera is pleased some irish men stole some of her apples, though I guess very few end up being pleased with the outcome of Tuireann's sons adventures.

"the Children of Tuireann". Although I do love Tolkien, he had a story called " the children of Turin" which can be bought now as a book... Wonder where he got so many of his ideas from????

Hey I got a question, I was born with the name Ian, and everyone I've ever known pronounced it Ee-in, but then I work with this guy one time who insisted that his name was Ian pronounced Eye-in, I'm in a relatively small County in the Pacific Northwest so I don't talk to a lot of Irishman, so can somebody clear that up for me?

@@mythicalireland didnt think so but once you added the pipe I had a vision of a leprechaun by the fire with pipe and squint telling stories with a shillelagh leaning against the chair. Stick to your formula! 🧙🏻‍♂️
