I have had several fellow Christians say to me "if you have peace about it, you'll know it's God" to which I reply "I have OCD, I don't have peace about anything" 😅 seriously though, our feelings are terrible indicators especially for people with OCD.

Amen to that. Faith does not mean having peace 24/7. You just trust in God despite of your feelings. God cares about our feelings and heart but following feelings as the marker that God's will is done is a horrible, horrible thing

This battle is the worst. I am a 26 year old woman who has rejected a lot of men. I genuinely loved the last guy I was with but it was so stressful that I became convinced it was the wrong relationship because of that stress. Every time i reject someone I feel even more horrible about myself because I hate rejection. I also have two parents who are great but seem to think I deserve better every time someone comes along. Its probably because I get so stressed. Im so sick of this, so absolutely done. I just want to be at peace in a relationship.

Healing yourself by giving your life, die to self for Christ. You have to let Gods ways of handling things in front of your ways and trust him to take care of it and make it turn out the best possible outcome. You would have to faith to listen to his small still voice instead of the loud proud arrogant bully voice of fear and judgement you have running over your minds board of directors. You know there are other voices in your mind that deserve a chance to speak but fear won’t shut up like a damn politician or propaganda news they own. Lust is not love. You don’t love everyone the same way. There are different levels of love for different relationships. Free love is not for your enemies. Wish them the best but don’t waste your time and energy trying to appease unyoked or people not worthy of respect because of actions free love. Do not revenge as grudges are a cancer to your spirit. Forgiveness is key but don’t let them continue to take advantage of you unreasonably or unreciprocated. Apologies for blowing hot air.

Wasn't expecting this to have such a religious angle (I didn't read your name) but I do kind of appreciate the spirituality in this video, there's something comforting about it (despite being agnostic, I do think there is a healthy intersection between science/psychology/religion that you managed to nail in this video)

Mark please pray for me. I struggle with what you cover in this video. I always thought that when you don't feel peace, it's the Lord telling me it's not the direction He wants me to go. I'm in a healthy, Christ centered relationship and struggle with anxiety and worry that the Lord is telling me to leave the relationship. But the interesting thing is, he has all the qualities that I've prayed for. We also share the same desire to serve God's people. It's a very loving relationship. I don't know what to do. We have been dating for 1 year and 6 mos.

I mostly have partner focused OCD where I get hung up on a physical feature on my bf. I start to wonder if I'm attracted to him enough or if I'm even in love. This makes me feel struck and I worry I won't be able to move forward in marriage.

Thank you so much for this video. This video is very helpful and Christ centered. I'm in a long term relationship of 1 year and 5 mos, and struggle with ROCD and fear to commit to marriage. You bring out so many great points about learning HOW to love unconditionally. I always thought physical attraction was love, and if there were times I didn't feel attracted or feel that "In love " feeling, then I wasn't with the right person.

Interestingly enough I have followed Mark for about 2 years now. I have not seen one video from him about ocd and relationdhips. Now, on this week, I happened to watch some videos elsewhere about ocd and relationship. And.. voila! There you make a video about the same topic! Amazing!

Thank you so much, I have this problem even with friendships. I pick friends based on their "christianity"... and i always find scripture verses that support my thinking (like Rev 3, spitting out lukewarm christians and everything). I am so tired of this feeling that God is asking me to leave them (and I dont want to, because they are amazing), while everyone around me is telling me, that this is not true and God wants me to love these people and be their friend. I am so exhausted... I am going to see a therapist for the first time next week, but I am afraid he is only going to tell me, that I am healthy (and dont have OCD) which would mean I need to leave these amazing friends, because that is what God is asking me to do. I am so exhausted.

Unfortunately for me my situation is different. I’ve been told by my mother who is a prophet that I will marry an Asian man. Most of wat she says comes to past. I’m with this guy who is not Asian and it just hurt so bad. I’ve been having anxiety and hoping we give up in my heart so I can feel relief from doubt and anxiety.

Been really struggling with this because I don’t want to pick a partner that God doesn’t want me to be with and I’m always hearing that God will take ppl out of your life that don’t belong and etc. my current partner is great but I’m always worried if we should be together and I don’t know if my anxiety is convicting me or if God is and I’m just scared to not listen and have God be angry with me. I’m also worried about stuff like this because I don’t want to get my wisdom from others and not listen to God but I feel kinda crazy here…

Titanic movie was seen by my daughter at a young age. Believing this was a precursor, so to speak about how “love” was. Prayerful she will be uplifted in her belief that The Lord is always with us, knows us much more than we know ourselves, Amen. For He will give peace and His presence will keep us rooted Re: we have to get away from the secular ways that true love is within us and yes we will know within a shadow of doubt and (shame) HE brings peace as we live accordingly Amen

Do you know Orion Tarragon(psyhacks)? Be interesting to see something with you two together. He's got a lot of good ideas, too, but he's basically about dealing with people/yourself as they are. I like the spiritual-based approach, myself, but you have a lot of similarities. And you're right, here, but I think it has to do with balance too. And that begs the question, just how much, in the spirit, are you really walking?
