I love this finish! And the soft medium nib from Platinum (Nakaya) is a beautiful thing. I love these urushi pens, and appreciated them so much more once I finally owned one. It finally made sense how people raved about them. Urushi is a glorious finish and one of my favorite things about modern pens.

What a tremendously nice pen and a good video! I got my Nakaya... ummm... portable? Kuro Tamenuri in 2009. Nib still reads "NAKATA" and it writes like a dream. Prices have gone up dramatically, though.

Hi, how do you compare in terms of looks , this pen and the Urushi pen from India Urushi studio which you had reviewed earlier.

I think the urushi graduation from dark to light is much better on the Nakaya's but Vivek does some great work and I haven't seen any of his later versions.

I think the diameter of the section was around 10-10.5mm

Beautiful pen, Dave. Congratulations. You mentioned that you have 300 bottles of ink. Have you ever had a problem with ink spoilage?

Only two bottles in terms of mould but both were monteverde inks
