IndyCar has a stipulation in its contract that it can cancel if it feels fan reaction is negative, sales figures drop, MSG files for bankruptcy, or if the game is below expectation

Even if NASCAR is gonna hold meetings with MSGM, I already have my doubts about changes being made soon for the future of NASCAR gaming

World of Outlaws Dirt Racing is such a good game. I wish they could work on a NASCAR game.

So I recently was playing the recent World of Outlaws game and the polish from iRacing/Monster Games had on that game compared to NASCAR Ignition was incredible. It made me realize just how bad NASCAR Ignitition is and I hope iRacing/Monster Games gets a future contract to make the NASCAR console game.

2005s Chase For the Cup was the last Nascar game I remember being good. It had some decent AI, a trophy room, and some pretty good genric tracks.

Monster would be my choice for the next dev. The srx and woo games are really solid titles. Dirt to daytona is a classic that they were involved in. Its just the best choice imo

tbh nascar h4/h5 were really good imo just needed better crash physics and some other small fixes. Which they would just take notes on how good nr2003 was for example and using that knowledge when making a new game. I would even RECOMMEND to them to if anything, spend 2-3 years on a game instead of rushing a game in 1.

It's pretty sad that the best NASCAR gaming that we've had in the past 10-15 years has been on Gran Turismo 5 Gran Turismo 6 and the DLC NASCAR content for Forza Motorsport 6 and 7.

Sep 30th is the end of the financial year and will probably be when MSG announces bankruptcy and closes its doors

The only issue with iracing making a console game for NASCAR is the fact they would pretty much have to create a new physics engine as the one iracing utilizes is basically an extremely modified version of nr2003, I think they can do it but really anything is better than what motorsport games has made

Remember when Forza motorsport scanned NASCAR stockcars and we were able to actually race on realistic tracks with down right nut and bolt accurate cars? I do and I hope NASCAR does sign a deal with a gaming company that takes the time and effort to do what Forza developers did.

What we need is an updated version of Nascar:06. Funny enough even though people complain about the state of Madden it has more features than anything Nascar has had in years.

My last favorite NASCAR game was “Dirt to Daytona.” I’d love to see something of that nature.

I’ve loved playing NASCAR games since EA Sports back on PlayStation. I was really bummed out when they were no longer going to be the makers of the game. Then when the new makers began making the games, I was very disappointed in the games but kept buying them year after year because I had hoped they would be better but they never were. I loved the amount of paint schemes you could choose from in EA and they almost had that story line where you started out in modifieds and then progressed up to Cup. You had options a race with your agent if you bumped into someone. They were by far a superior game. Wish that whoever makes the next installment will use some of EA Sports success.

This has finally given us all some hope for the future of NASCAR gaming Has offically made my day.

World Of Outlaws is a great step for console racing. So seeing Iracing and Monster Games take NASCAR is nothing but promising to me!

A NASCAR game made by Monster/iRacing with a simcade approach similar to Codemasters before EA f’d everything up would be the best case scenario for NASCAR. Still waiting patiently for that MSG bankruptcy/police raid.

Need to get back the the NASCAR Thunder 06 one you can adjust the while car down to what hear u run in the rear end. I can't remember for sure or dirt to daytona. Those were my favorites.

NASCAR should also demand answers from Fox Sports as well when it comes to the TV side of things especially given the fact that NASCAR has begun negotiations for the new media rights deal that begins in 2025. Fox especially this year has really been pushing full blown commercial breaks during the race especially when something major happens & have increased the frequency of them. As a result, fans have been unable to see important moments of the race & this is one of the major reasons why the TV ratings are down this year compared to last year in my view. If NASCAR really wants to compete with Indycar & F1 for fans & high TV ratings, they need TV partners that actually care about showing the sport. Fox Sports says that they need NASCAR going forward for their sports portfolio but their actions so far seem to contradict this & they seem to be okay with only doing the absolute bare minimum when it comes to NASCAR coverage. Heck they give the developmental league the USFL more attention & treat it with more respect than they do NASCAR, (though I should point out that Fox owns the USFL, so they have some skin in whether or not it succeeds or fails). Still, NASCAR absolutely should keep this in mind when negotiating with Fox Sports otherwise they will end up in the same position as MLS is in with Fox with crappy coverage if they renew with them.

A somewhat open license would be best so that a few different companies could make their attempt to make the best game they can, and the consumers can decide what's best.

I think their best option would be to open the barn door and allow anyone who wants to make a NASCAR game, to make a NASCAR game. Then they can have a lot of competition between platforms.

Think I’ve commented it before but here I still am enjoying NR2003. Just figured out how to get OBS to stream it, trucking along with a “career” mode starting back in 99 using the mod. Requires a lot of me making stuff up as I go but I’m enjoying it. The racing is amazing. However… I would love to enjoy a simcade game with the modern cars that I could create my own driver on. Maybe start in trucks and work my way up. I know it’s out there but imagine a game that you could start in a certain era and work your way up through the years and through the generations and series. Be sweet but would require a ton of work. Be too hard. But just something would be great

The amazing thing about Iracing is that they have the track scans and handling models for all the cars and tracks in all the major series. It should be super easy for them to just port these to console and make it less competitive. They would have to make an AI(as far as I know Iracing doesn’t do AI) but monster games is already able to do that so it should work great.

It NEEDS to be iRacing and Monster. Look at the WoO game. Probably the greatest circle track racing game in the past 10 years and probably the best to come for the next 10. The content is good. Bugs (although very minor) are worked out quickly. The physics seem as good as you can ask for from a SimCade game. I have not been able to put it down since I bought it. To have that come to NASCAR and Indy would be the best thing to happen to American motor sport games since NASCAR Thunder 2004

I think nascar should be a mix of I racing and, previous nascar games were. In nascar heat 3,4,5 I enjoyed the career going from dirt on up to the cup series, I think they should include the other feeder series and the player pics were they want to start and were they want to end, but also make it like I racing where you can control the car and on pit road (but add a speed limit where the car can only go that speed) A few more miscellaneous things would be the various rules in nascar like entering pit road while crashing won't result in a penalty (I found this out the hard way in heat 5 when the ai spun me out). Some others are to make it where you can choose where to pit on pit road.

I remember on Gran Turismo 5 and 6 they had Ford Chevy and Toyota and they had the 2011 COTs I loved racing those around as a kid maybe get Polyphony to add the next gens in there

Not sure if this has been said, but iRacing had the NASCAR license, before EA bought it, before they became iRacing. Papyrus made the best NASCAR games from 1994-2003, which iRacing uses a heavily update physics engine from Grand Prix Legends/NASCAR 4/2002/2003. I'd love to see them make a non pay to play NASCAR game that's a spiritual successor to NASCAR 2003.

As much as people don't like the Heat games, I feel like 704 games had so much more potential towards making their first actual good game if they continued. They slightly improved their games at least but it sucked that MSG took over. Kinda sounds wrong to say this but I feel so bad for 704.

This is why I’ve been playing Nascar thunder 2003 since it’s release. Games just never really got better…

If NASCAR does want a new company to make their games, I got four good candidates; Monster: They can just use the SRX/WoO engine EA: They’ve made NASCAR games before (up until 2015 if I’m correct). THQnordic: A stretch, yes. But considering they have Monster Jam, and two MX vs ATV games under their belt, it could work, theoretically. Vector Unit Games: An ACTUAL stretch. Would be pretty funny though-

Why is this a surprise to anyone? Hasn’t it been in the news recently that Motorsport Games is basically ceasing to exist? So why are we all surprised that “management hasn’t been seen in the office for weeks” ? There was literally a recent article explaining that employees of the company hadn’t received multiple paychecks. So why would they be showing up to work?

I lost hope after ignition for the console side. I still enjoy other racing games such as GT, Dirt, F1, and some motocross

So basically what we need is a hybrid between a sim and an arcade racer, something that has plenty of options for car setups, tuning, drivers, teams, sponsors, manufacturers (ideally competition years as well) and isn't too easy, but also doesn't require you to be a sweatlord with no life devoting tens of hours a day to this one game and taking it WAY too seriously and paying out the nose to actually play it with any competency and compete because they think they're the next William Byron? Yeah, I think NASCAR Thunder 2003, NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, and NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona are fine for now. AAA game studios nowadays (especially EA) just can't help themselves with microtransactions and locking 90% of the content behind a paywall when you've already paid like $70 for the game itself, especially if that content is basically pay-to-win and it makes the game laughably easy. Trust me, you don't want EA to get the NASCAR license back, because they WILL do this. They made 3 good NASCAR games (Thunder 2002, 2003 and 2004), one mixed one (2005: Chase for the Cup), and they made 4 bad ones (06: Total Team Control, 07, 08, and 09).

Unreal in 2023 I can’t play a standard NASCAR game on the current console. I have to play Forza 7 with stock cars just to get a taste

Imagine how cool it would be to have NASCAR games like Formula 1 games and F1 Manager games? I would LOVE a NASCAR Manager game as in depth as that.

NASCAR will end up looking like the World Outlaws video game, as close to a sim game as you can get on a console.. for now. i highly recommend it and it would make for a great “placeholder” until the next NASCAR game if youre into dirt racing

I really hope if it's true because something needs to be done especially for the fact that they are not releasing anything this year if it's something probably another nascar game bit only for the switch which I would be furious about it. I personally think turn 10 could make a great NASCAR game. Daytona Miami and Indy are great fun on Motorsport 7 with the gen 6 cars.

I really hope they just do away with exclusivity deals. Even if for just one year, they could use an open market to find who can do it best.

Hey, when we had NASCAR in Real Racing 3 by EA it was AWESOME!!!! I redownloaded it and I was sad to see that they had all kinds of different racing groups, but they no longer had NASCAR. I would LOVE if they would bring it back to real racing 3!

I don't think NASCAR really cares, as long as someone is paying them for the rights to the series. If they did, they'd talk to iRacing about making an NR2003 successor. I was really hoping that the pandemic would show sanctioning bodies the immense marketing value of sims. It's cool seeing someone like Stephane Ratel get so excited about what Kunos are doing with his stuff.

Well as MSG was contracted to put out a game every year and so far, they've already missed out once (and are looking to miss out twice) so NASCAR pretty much have more then enough reason to cite a breach of contract (I wouldn't be shocked if they came down unannounced to MSG themselves and got to see the mess first hand). I don't expect MSG themselves to even be able to afford lawyers to take on the might of NASCAR's lawyers and with how much they are already bleeding financially, trying to put up a fight in court is not in their best interest. Not even sure bringing back Stephen Hood (The guy who left MSG because of the direction it was going despite forming it) will be enough to save it, the damage has been done and I don't see it getting any better for the company. Incidentally, If they are paying attention that is, Indycar can either take to them court for a similar issue or get right out of the contract early as I hear there was actually a opt out clause put in place.

EA should change their motto to, "EA, we turn gold into shit." Papyrus usually kept EA on their toes. Once gaming moved to single license monopolies, everything went to shit and that's how we have ALL EA Sports games sucking.

I would say Polyphony Digital would be a worthy replacement, but they've got their hands full with Gran Turismo 7 updates and modeling car interiors.

I can't remember exactly since it's been a long time ago but I want to say in '04 on the OG Xbox I played NASCAR HEAT and it was AWESOME!!! It might not have been that game but it was an official NASCAR game and I loved it!

The problem with me is that if there was a solution with iRacing, I'm totally on board with it. If they had a one-time fee, I would totally go for that because I'm not an average Joe, and if I start playing a racing game, I don't spend a lot of time to have fun, I spend a lot of time to perfect my craft.

The last NASCAR game I owned was NASCAR The Game: Inside Line by Eutechnyx/Activision for the Wii back in 2012 and my last PC NASCAR game was NASCAR Thunder 2003 under EA. A few months ago, NASCAR Heat 5 was on sale for a few bucks, so I bought it. I am astonished at how bad the NASCAR games have become.

I have an idea for a video. Weird connections in NASCAR. For example, Ward Burton was sponsored by Caterpillar back in the day. Fast forward, Jeff Burton was sponsored by Caterpillar. Carl Edwards was sponsored by Subway when he drove for Roush and Gibbs. Granted, that could be a personal sponsor. But an idea nonetheless.

Wish they would end the exclusive to developers. I miss the EA Sports VS Monster Games at the time. Like NASCAR Thunder 2003 and NASCAR Dirt to Daytona.

What i think would be really cool in regards to a nascar game is something similar in vein to Assetto Corsa/gran torismo/forza in a way. Have a selection of cars and tracks from all of nascar history. How cool would it be to have a nascar game that let you race all generations of nascar on legacy and historic tracks? Would it be a big undertaking, absolutely, and im not a game developer so i cant say how easy or difficult it would be. But there needs to be a big change to make nascar games interesting and worthy of purchase again.

I think this is the right choice. Although it no longer exist there was a reason people loved the NCAA football series and people still play it to this day because of its just good quality. I'll keep playing Heat 5 but I hope they find that good footing in a devolper that wants good quality. Not to mention that good quality boosts viewership and sales.

Does anyone else feel like this game has SOOOOOO much potential? Graphics and physics are awesome, but it is WAY WAY WAYYYYY too easy to get spun out and wreck and there are a ton of glitches... anyone else notice this? I'd settle for a little more stability out of my car. I shouldn't spin out every time I get the slightest bump.

Finally, NASCAR is getting off of their ass and doing something about this. NASCAR could've avoided all of this lunacy if they went with a different publisher in the first place. Hopefully, NASCAR will escape from the death grip of Motorsport Games once and for all. Will IndyCar also take action or they're going to do nothing and believe that Motorsport Games will get the job done right? Cuz if they do believe in Motorsport Games, they're completely delusional. It was a big mistake of them leaving iRacing for these con artists and in the end, they're going to regret it.

Honestly there hasn't been a close to perfect nascar game since Dirt to Daytona or the early EA games the best one we recently got was Heat 5 and it still could have been a lot better. Nascar needs to get out of the contract with MSG and give it to the only company I can honest see doing justice to the nascar games and bringing back the fan base and that's Codemasters (technically EA). With their pedigree of the Dirt, Dirt Rally, F1 and Grid games they've more then proven themselves capable and given a couple years I think they could easily turn the nascar games around and give hope back to the fan base. Just my opinion.

There should have already been lawsuits to get control back so they can market the rights to more game creators Get E/A & 2K back in the mix So We can get some legit Gaming with up to date models

My guess for September 30th is a deadline for a major announcement. Whether it be for a new game or an explanation for their actions (or lack of actions) The best future for Nascar console gaming is hand it over to the people making the F1 games, unfortunately they are controlled by EA.

iracing put out an excellent World of Outlaw game with Monster Games. So I think they could revisit the Nascar series since monster games had history with NASCAR

I really miss Nascar in Gran Truismo
