When you hand a Smart Phone to a child you must teach them that taking nasty pictures vets them in trouble or worse dead . Keyword Child. Stop blaming the CEO's and Look at the Parents.

These kids are victims of parents who do not do a thing to watch them on the internet, and give them phones when they turn 10. Then they blame everybody else for their problems.

Children under 18 should not be on social media. Parents need to teach children how to protect their personal information, and restrict use if they experience any bullying, threats or intimidation. My parents did not allow me to watch TV, listen to music or see movies with content not appropriate for my age. Children do not have the critical thinking or coping skills required to use social media responsibly.

It is not a companies' responsibility to be a parent to your already suicidal child. If you cant monitor your own children or teach them the dangers of the internet, you shouldn't of had one.

Just because there are teenagers on social media doesn't give predators the right to take advantage of them. At the same time, parents have be very strict about always monitoring what their kids are doing on social media in order to make sure that their kids don't become victims of predators.😢😢

Its sad that in Our Country our Childrens problems are a profile on a app . But Children around the world are dead because of hunger , war, dictatorships, and disease. Just take your kids phones away and take them to Sunday school and enroll them in sports.

Are parents not admitting that their kids can be easily swayed by strangers online? I keep reading about events that my own son brought to my attention over 20 yrs ago now. ,Why don't kids these days recognize when they are being led down the wrong path? I raised my son as though the world is a nasty place in terms of deception. He is well aware of what evil lurks behind the scenes and I may have scared him to some point but I most certainly didn't comfort him but sheltering him with deception. You simply can not rely on some fatcat CEO to be concerned about who comes in contact with your youth. Same goes for pedos,,, If you feel that pedos are grooming kids at what point do you also recognize how easily they are groomed? In other words,, have parents raised children that are unable to recognize how destructive their world can be to them? You need to be raising your kids so that they are able to recognize these dangers otherwise you are not grooming them yourself. Groom your kids to recognize these creeps that will harm them. How unstable are your kids if they can be groomed so easily by people they don't know. I can't help but think folks are not spending enough time with their kids teaching them about this nasty world full of creeps.

There should not be such a thing as asylum. If we can't provide for our own we have have no business trying to provide for another country. There obligation is to provide for themselves.

Here is an idea for Lawmakers, How about a law that says anyone under the age of 18 can NOT have a cell phone and if they do the parents are held responsible. How being a parent instead of letting a phone babysit your children, how about being involved in your children's lives and actually pick up their phone and go thru it. And before you come at me We raised 11 children and none of them had a phone til they were 18. Straight A students, no miss day, no one ever arrested and now raising their own children.

I feel for these families who have lost a loved one, and I'm not saying that they were bad parents, however, it is not up to social media to watch our children. It's up to parents. Unfortunately, there are many dangers in this world that we ALL need to be aware of, but a CEO of a social media company should not be blamed for their child's suicide. Again, it's up to parents to monitor their children, but sadly, some won't ever do it. And yes, I have a child, and I also know the pain of losing my other child. I volunteered at ALL of his schools, as a single mother, while working a full time job, from kindergarten until 12th grade and it's amazing the denial that parents have when it comes to their kids and the laziness of doing actual parenting! I have used vacation days to be at his school, I have taken the actual CPU tower to the computer and the entire laptop when he was on punishment AND installed camera's inside my home when I was not there. I have monitored his internet usage with software. And no, this did not damage him. When you have a child it takes sometimes exhausting actions over their entire childhood in order to keep them safe. It's really easy to blame someone else though.

Where are the parents while their kids surf social media? Why are those parent letting their kids surf social media in the first place? I can logically realize that, yes, social media does bare some of the blame. However, much of the blame should fall on the parent(s), as they are they one's responsible for keeping their children safe by monitoring their use of electronic devices and social media. Though, I also realize that parents can't be with their children 24/7. I feel somewhat the same about firearms. I believe social media and firearms/weapon manufacturers bare some of the blame and responsibility, and thus should be regulated by Congress. I also believe Congress, especially the Republicans should be held accountable for their role in propagandizing and promoting violence and unaccountability for those criminals who are responsible.
