Chuck is a great co-host, he's funny, down to earth and interested in the subject of the show. His rapport with Neil is part of the reason I love Star Talk so much. Recently I started listening to old episodes of the radio show and hearing the then co-host Lynne talk made me cringe and appreciate all the other comics that have since then appeared on the show.

I have become such a fan of Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, I have gone and read "Space Chronicles", "Pluto Files", "Death by Black Hole", "Origins", and "One Universe" by the man. His books are fascinating stuff, and I am glad he communicates astrophysics to us whom Calculus is a foreign language. It is great having him translate the cosmos discoveries to us.

Three years after this was taped, we discovered that the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way have dark halos that stretch out beyond the visible galaxy. In a more recent StarTalk video (within the last year or so, iirc), they talk about how we are already beginning our collision

so maybe the milky way is already the outcome of 2 galaxies that collided millions of years ago

Another person who doesn't like calculus aye?? i guess i'm among the few who really love that discipline. Also, i totally agree with you in reference to Dr. Tyson the man is brilliant have you catched his lectures or chats with people like Stephen Colbert or Dr. Richard Dawkins.. the man is just amazing. I can't wait to see The Cosmos' on fox in the near future.

Is it safe to say there will be another civilization created once our two galaxies collide and settle? It's also thought provoking to me to think someone may have asked the same question about is?

This is Unbelievable!!! The reason say this is because I wrote a script in 1995 called ASHURA that dealt with this issue. To hear this now is freaky
