NEMOPHILA was formed in 2019 and started to distribute covers due to the influence of COVID-19. maximum the band is a mutual admirer when it comes to HORMONE covers, especially HORMONE drummer NAO and Muratamu, who are close friends. NEMOPHILA also covered X JAPAN [KURENAI]. The concept of NEMOPHILA is "the sound is crazy intense, but the rest is loose and fluffy." SAKI recently said on Japanese TV, "I want to make something heavy but Japanese. This music video symbolizes that. I look forward to seeing NENOPHILA's reaction in the future. How about that HARA chan aye...she is something else. Prefer the heavier metalcore/death/thrash side to NEMOPHILA, but frankly I really liked this track. Cinderblock riff and HARA chan harmonizing with MAYU hits the mark. Yes, NEMOPHILA bridges, and fuses genres like you said so well. Took me a while to get into this song, it's pretty cool but not my favorite either. However I found some Beastie Boys influences both in the video, the humor and the song, which I thought was super interesting and fun!

This mv is very late 90s style and fun! And this is the second song composed by haraguchi-san（bassist), it's a good song overall, very 2000s nu metal style with rap and some jazz touch, that's what's interesting about nemophila, you never know what style their next song will be.🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻

Love that they bring the 90s back, the style on that Era is very nostalgic, brings lot of memories in music.. Yeah show him 'Adabana' from Nemophila and next would be Hanabie new song/music video 'Neet Game' which I'm pretty sure it would be interesting✌️🎌

Yeah, Japanese bands like Nemophila, Hanabie and Band-Maid play with genres within their songs. Inspired by Maximum the Hormone. Others like Lovebites and Hagane are more straightforward like Iron Maiden (though different songs will reflect different genres). So no band will ever bore you.

This is a hard song to feel first up. It took me 3 listens and now I love it. You are right. The blend is perfect and the guitars are dirty as hell. Their last 3 songs have so much going on behind the scene.

(edited way too many typos) Your brother is indeed open minded. That's definitely not a "good" Nemophila start, it's so weird musically and visually. I personally like being thrown left and right with their changes. But it's definitely not a "I'm in love at first listening" song for me, it's more a growing into you song. Needs way more listenings and being thrown into their whole songs repertoire to get that variety. But hey, I'm a guy that loves a lots of various music styles (can listen to classical, punk, country, hard rock, 70's Motown stuff, etc. all in a row.) I love to make playlists with that mix of a variety, so no one can see the next song coming). So it feels probably more natural to me to have extreme changes, as long as it's Mayu's voice, because that's first and foremost what got me into them. Same song sang by someone else may definitely not make it for me. I'm actually way more picky with the metal I listen as it's still probably a style I usually like less, and it's more often than not the singer's voice that gets me in or not. Anyway, great react as usual, and love to see that both of you are in same mold, honnest and fair reacting. You may not like something, but you respect the talent. Then they pumped out almost one per week (friday very often) cover song, so indeed Maximum the Hormone was still very early in that band's timeline, but not their first cover (sorry for being picky 😉)

I struggled with this at 1st as I am not a rap fan. After a few listens I get it now. I love the fact they are always pushing limits.

I'll start by saying they are my favorite band right now. I do like that from the beginning they didn't stick to one sound. However, I do not like this song. There are some elements in it that sound nice, but overall it doesn't work for me. The biggest reason why is the rap. I admit that I may have a bias against rap. It's exceedingly rare that I find any rap that is good. Once I hear it, I automatically get a negative feeling. They will remain my favorite band despite this song. Their previous release, "Adabana," I absolutely love and is the song of the year in my opinion.

I think you're confusing them with Hanabie, who did start doing Maximum the Hormone covers.

Good reaction. I like this song but ------ almost too talented. The song is almost lost during the guitar solo and they sometimes come back on the 'one' but loose the groove when they come back on the 'two'. Still, love this band. Nemophila and Billlie are a breath of fresh air. Wish they would cover more 90's metal.
