I think he has potential, I used to be a nervous learner, my advice if your nervous take things in steps, you need a good road sense before anything else, so as long as you know basic road ettique, signs and rules you can build on that and later go onto something with gears or auto car/bike but to begin with a good way of learning your road sense is hiring the electric scooters in your local town and getting a few months experience on them, then I went to take my CBT and got a ped it helped me build a good road sense prior to getting my moped/bike and you only have the controls to learn when you learn your first car/bike rather than learning your roadsense, learning gears and clutch, and manouvers and becoming overwhelmed by trying to learn to much at one time. If you learn manual in a bike then it helps you learn a manual car as some of those skills are transferable. I'm now riding a 125 manual and if it's possible for me it's possible for anyone.

Just for some advice, get him off the road and practice the biting point with him. Seems like a bit of a struggle, especially with one so high. Drive somewhere less busy Practice left and right turns Practice reversing Once he's comfortable with changing gears smoothly that is when you should expose him to some traffic. If you throw everything at once, he'll have too many things to focus on and as a result, may cause an accident. Once he's okay with all the above, take him to roundabouts, and dual carriageways, and practice all the maneuvers.

I recommend getting a car with duel controls so you have some sort of control nice vid tho. Also a tip is to gas first before releasing the clutch he’ll never stall. Also teach him the manoeuvres like msm and Pom ( mirrors signal manoeuvre - when changing direction ) ( prepare observe manoeuvre - when moving off ). When putting the car straight make sure he knows that he should be in the middle of his lane that’s a good driving position. A good skill he will also need is when coming to a junction like the start he should already be in 1st ready to go so clutch down into first whilst moving and breaking. I believe you can do it jrizzy but start him very basic first he shouldn’t be doing 50 just yet because he’s not that confident make him get confident whilst moving the car slowly then move him on to hill starts and down hill control he should get use to the clutch also I think hes doing too much right now everyone struggles when learning Manuel if it was auto getting him out in the roads would be good because you don’t have to do much but with a manual the examiner will want to see how good his control of the car is too. Also reversing should be a whole different lesson like each lesson should have a different target like lesson 1 knowing the controlles lesson 2 knowing the clutch and getting into 1st and second gear lesson 3 manoeuvring in a car park lesson 4 parking up in a bay lesson 5 reversing in a bay lesson 6 Parallel parking lesson 7 moving to 3rd and 4th gear in a quite road lesson 8 junctions lesson 9 rounder-bouts lesson 10 everything combined . Any lesson after that should just be experience driving because the more time behind the wheel the better break it down to him so it makes it easier

I was the same, you just need to keep him on a estate not main roads just until he gets used to changing gears, biting point, mirrors, positioning on road etc etc just the basics then take him on the big roads/roundabouts it will be a lot more easier and less stressful for him. They don’t do 3 point turns anymore on tests. They do parking on the right side of the road and reversing two car lengths. Forward bay park. Reverse bay park. Parallel parking. I would teach him in a very quiet area away from cars. Get used to the controls and changing gears. Also lane management. Mirrors are a big one and blind spots. I passed recently and examiners pick up on everything. Wishing your brother luck in passing 🤞🏻. He needs to build up on his confidence and he should be fine. Driving shouldn’t be that stressful.

I still could never bring myself to "teach" someone manual. Kudos to you all, it's mainly because I'm not trying to invest in a cheaper one JUST to teach people and no way in hell am I letting people damage my car. The way some people just ruin manuals "learning" them 🤦 Kills me every time I watch. Not being mean either, we all have to learn. I just could never willingly put my car through it. I've taught my step daughter how to drive stick (she's 10) but she actually did really well with GRASPING the understanding of it (more than some adults I have tried to teach) so she's my one and only exception. The second I see someone doing what just happened in the beginning of the video, get out! Lol that's me. I just couldn't man. One stall, that's one thing. Constantly forgetting handbrakes stuff/gears, to constantly keep doing it etc. I couldn't man. Just bless everyone that puts their cars through this. U all prob have "jobs" to a degree doing this though and idk that's why I just can't. Normal person. Not trying to invest in even a junker just to teach. Also USA, the sad sad land where the majority of "license" holders can't "actually" drive without "automatic" assistance.
