This is driving lesson #5 where I'm teaching my FIRST TIME learner driver little brother how to drive a manual car on PUBLIC ROADS so that he can pass his driving test! The dangerous driving mistakes continue in this lesson however he is getting better and more confident at driving 😳 Do you think he'll pass his driving test soon with this confidence 👀

I have no idea how you think he's gonna be ready by 10 lessons. Jeremy, I think you need to learn all the minors and majors you can get on a driving test first because he's doing a lot of them that you're not correcting. He's not checking both blind spots before reversing. And just checking all three mirrors before moving off isn't good enough. He's got to check his right blind spot or left blind spot (depending on what side of the road you're moving off from). He's not checking his mirrors before indicating or slowing down, or changing direction like moving around parked cars. You didn't even talk through with him on how to reverse bay park but tells him to do it. 20:16 He also has no idea on how to do a hill start, just pressing down the accelerator with barely any clutch. It's not his fault tbh, he should be told this.

One thing I’d recommend get used to always checking the mirrors and blind spots. They will fail you so quickly for it. I failed my first test for not checking my left mirror exiting at roundabouts. Also check the left Mirror whenever you have fully stopped and about to move off at lights, junctions, roads and so on. They can fail you saying a bike could suddenly be by the side of you when you have stopped. But just drum in mirrors and more mirrors with a big side of blind spot checks

Shout out to the older brother for being so patient with teaching his lil bro how to drive properly. If I was that dumb when I was learning how to drive, my father would have literally killed me already. Old bro is very eager to teach his lil bro how to drive so he can get his driving license despite it being very clear that lil bro just does not have it in him. I have never seen a guy struggle this badly on the road, shows little to no progression and struggle for years. Imagine being able to practice driving around 7-8 years as mentioned by both guys and still not being able to learn how to drive. Man's head goes to the moon while driving. He's just so clueless on what he needs to do despite being consistently reminded by his old bro every single time.

Also does he know exactly what he’s looking out for in the blind spot and why? Telling him a bike or motorbike next to him there and won’t show in the mirror might make him remember easier. …Reverse parking give him chances to stop fully every so often on his way back and really look in the mirrors where he’s aiming not just while he’s moving, he needs more time. Drizzy his steering has improved but he’s got a lot more to learn in terms of - knowing when he can go at roundabouts for instance when another car has a signal. So he needs to work on those observations and then his mirror checks are not good enough in terms of what you’ve been teaching him. If you go onto KZfaq and type in mirror checks theirs literally videos teaching you them for general driving and then manoeuvres. He also needs to work on his gear changes and get used to having more control on his own. You can’t help him during the test. He’s definitely made progress though on his steering. Only thing I would say as well is he needs to make sure he stays in his lane when driving and turning but definitely steering wise he has gained more control of the car. Reduce his speed, work on mirrors, stay in lane roundabouts, gear changes and taking more ownership himself and he’ll be fine 😂

Granted you don't enforce the blind spot check which he should do, but he isn't even listening to checking the three mirrors and/or to keep checking everywhere while reversing. He's obviously got the confidence to get in the car and try, but he needs to actually listen and learn. I still think he should get an automatic but I have to give him props for pulling away in second without jolting the car at one point 😂😂😂

Heres an idea, throw him on a skid course with plenty of run of at a local track for a few days with a pro for a few days. It'll most likely scare the ... out of him but I'm confident he will gain in leaps and bounds. He seems to lack situational awareness and physical coordination, to what I'd best describe as being downright overwhelming (nevermind the rules broken). Break that fear with a skid course. It's no different than someone who is fearful of heights and throwing them out of a plane. Sometimes got to be cruel to be kind.

I think that he should drive automatic because he seems to have difficulty thinking about many things at once. Not only that but he is very tense and the way he handles the steering wheel is so bad. So he needs to learn that at first… hope he gets it 😊

I think before he starts parking and all, he just needs to drive round and round in a quiet area so he builds up abit of confidence because I feel like his progress is getting no where tbf😅

I beg you get your brother to buy and watch “The Ultimate Driving Course” by DGN Driving. It will honestly be so helpful for him because to be honest he really needs it. It breaks down every manoeuvre very easy step by step and helps strengthens the fundamentals.
