7/10 ''Dorohedoro'' was the best if only good anime of 2020 as a slow year with not much of note of about 1000 releases but only 1/2 a dozen worth consideration-recommendation. 'Love is war' was decent. everyone hyped over 'Castlevania' animation but I'd rather play the old 2d games as people today are different. A lot of crappy music video releases of anime. Both 2018 season 1 & 2019 season 2 best anime hands down (Pingu in the city) 9/10! place Mob Psycho 100 season 2 (7/10 was 2nd place). 2018 was the year of (extra seasons) & no new releases except goblin slayer & honestly a 5/10 was different but basically if D&D was played by the Japanese hence NSFW goblins. 2021 was a terrible year as the best you got was 'komi cant communicate', Gokushufudo, Osama Ranking, supercorrks etcetera. Was a very mid year. I think the golden age of of anime has ended like the golden age of television ended in the mid 2000's roughly. 1st & 2nd era of movies then late 1990& early 200'a for to shows was the peak. Is it me or does it feel like the anime just feel like the formula has been beaten over done for since one punch man season 1 it's been a massive decline from 2015. Genuinely I'd rather watch 1980's animation to much of what comes out now. The CGI stuff hurts my eyes. Avatar James Camren in 2009 dates the decline of the Movie & television. Western Animation like adult swim was the only saving grace in western media with rare exceptions from independent artists. Cinematography is fvcked & animation west or east seems to be going the same way!

The Dorohedoro manga is an 8.5/10. Mind beserk manga as top benchmark is a 9/10 personally. I reserve 10/10 for few things for even my favourite dhow red dwarf is a 9.5/10 as it has some flaws. Some movies might be a 10/10 like most Monty python films, god father or the lord of the ring trilogy as these movies will be stand till the end of time as long as they exist. Thing with movies is from 1950's to 2000'd many great films exist. Who is honestly going to tell me any anime beats (Avatar: The Last Airbender)? let alone adventure time or Futurama? West makes less quantity but quality of story in animation is king. Call me old but loony tunes lasted the test of time for reason as the original 1930 to 1969 runs I watched even as a nipper in the 90's. Mind 'Adult swim' need I say more?

Yeah, I think Dorohedoro got slammed by C19 restrictions. It was highly praised when it was released and Netflix promoted it as hard as they did Delicious in Dungeon. Production was just hard because of the constant delays.

I only watched the 1st 3 episodes before the season even finished, finished the manga in a month and immediatly bought volumes. This was the series for me, it was such a giant breathe of fresh air and its been around since 2000, even if its abandoned this 10/10 manga is always there, its changed my love for manga and anime.

This manga was created by Hayashida Q a woman who used to work alongside Tsutomu as his assistant. She’s very creative and has amazing world building and she draws amazingly hot characters. So to me it’s no surprise because Nihei also made the first anime on netflix which is sidonia no kishi so

These two are my fave authors, in both writing and drawing, and i read mangas since 25 years ago. ( I love many otherartists, but when so eone "goes mainstream", my flawed head don't like their work so much anymore; i.e. Araki... 🤷‍♂️)

Dorohedoro instantly became my #1 anime after watching it years ago and that's saying something because I've watched 100s of anime over the past 25 years. It has everything in it and more, some of the best comedy, story pacing and character building I've ever seen. Thanks for making a video highlighting how great of a show this is! Dorohedoro is one of the best stories i've ever read, I love how it puts like 5 different groups of charismatic characters and then their actions/interactions ends up affecting the whole story, truly a masterpiece

When I first saw the original opening for dorohedoro before it was available in america officially I just read the entire manga and loved every minute of it. Absolutely insane but heartfelt nonsense the whole way through. The unfortunate reality is that apparently the animated adaptions had a lot of issues in development which is probably why netflix refused to continue it, that is assuming netflix actually wanted a reason this time because they normally don't give a shit.

The team that made the first season was busy with the final season of Attack on Titan produced right after Dorohedoro, and this is basically a passion project by the director Yuuichiro Hayashi. Let’s hope it gets a season 2 now that AOT is over!

I’ve heard the opposite, they had a pre storyboard stage to lay out which scenes would be cgi and which would be 2d which would help mitigate confusion and allow the models for that scene to be better produced in advance.

This story was so charismatic and unique that I felt, I loved it and I decided to read the manga after watching the anime, I liked it so much that I wanted to buy it and now I'm waiting for the IVREA volumes to continue coming out. The first ever time I've heard about dorohedoro was when I've stubled upon one of the panels of the manga, in which Kaiman complains that he keeps ruining pillows while sleeping, on the social media. I immediately thought back then that it was so cool the character's weird appearance features were actually addressed in their mundane live, and had consequences on their life, instead of existing in a vacuum as =just= a character design thing meant to convey themes or whatever. ...you shitting on BLAME! is unforgivable, though.

I love this show and Manga so much but at the same time it is not without its flaws, in the manga you can feel where the plot direction was pivoted several times, there are several plot holes and unpaid setups but the thing is I think that goes to show how much likeable characters and an interesting setting will get you to forget that. Its not the best written manga ever but its pure creativity and fun the whole way through.

I remember this one, It was my fave until I picked up chainsaw man (and I hated chainsaw man but now im a fan) and the parallels in these 2 stories are insane. Denji and Power vs Kaiman and Nikaido make sense.
