Neuroglial cells are not as popular as neurons, but glial cells should not be ignored. Microglia, the resident macrophages of the brain, are incredibly powerful and independent little cells that belong to both the nervous system and immune system. Astrocytes, Oligodendrocytes and other neuroglial cells are quite fascinating as well. Read about neuroglial cells, you will wonder why they aren't more popular!
