Below the surface of the skin lies many hidden structures. Often the surfaces of concepts, ideas, objects (including people) are judged, for cuteness as an example. Looking beyond the surface of a Primate's epidermal layer, here you can see arteries/arterioles, veins/venules, nerves, integumentary mechanoreceptors (two Pacinian Corpuscles), eccrine (sweat) glands, myocytes/muscle fibres, as well as other interesting structures and cells. What I cannot see on this slide are Meissner's Corpuscles, if you spot any, please let me know!
