Never Hike Alone: The Lost Scenes - "Ghost Jason Attacks" USSA | 2020 | 15 min
A found footage / vertical video experience, "Ghost Jason Attacks" is a collaboration between Womp Stomp Films, Oddest of the Odd, and Physical Gamerz, "Ghost Jason Attacks" follows the the story of three streamers Courtlan, Ryan, and PG as they attempt to escape Camp Crystal Lake and the murderous "Ghost Jason" Voorhees.
This video is not canon with the Never Hike Alone universe but serves as what we believe to be a successful experiment in a Friday the 13th inspired vertical video / found footageexperiences.

As much as I enjoyed watching this, it was probably a wise decision to cut it from the final edit. The “Found Footage” perspective is cool when used sparingly, like in the rest of the film, but I think this is a bit long and would of detracted from the masterpiece that was Never Hike Alone.

I completely agree with you. Although this was tense and suspenseful it wasn't even as close as good as "Never hike alone". The main reason being that this film on the contrary was very unrealistic...these 3 guys were tied up for no reason and then kept hiding in whatever building was closest to the last building they were hiding in lol kinda made no sense. That's why "Never hike alone" was so good. Not only was the guy all by himself but he knew when to get the hell out and actually run away, it was surprisingly realistic

Wow! This is really well made, real scary too. The acting is pretty good and the tension is really nice. Though it leaves me with some questions, namely: Why did Jason tie people up with duct-tape, or did someone else do that?

It was an experiment we did on the fly. We had almost 0 game plan that night, but Courtlan and Co put it together piece by piece. It was a fun night and we thought it was worth sharing. It's sort of a template for NHAIII

Vague yeah that is fair but I’m sure for 100-500 dollars a sound designer could come up with something better than pasta cracking for a neck snap. If that’s still considered expensive then fair enough. Don’t get me wrong though I think this short is awesome and I’ll take any Jason content I can get.

Love the concept and the content. My only criticism of this piece is that Jason Vorhees would NEVER hold people like hostages. He dispatches of his victims once they are caught. The ONLY time Jason keeps someone alive is when it is a female who reminds him of his mother.

I agree...for the most part. Ghost Jason isn't like other incarnations of the slasher. He actually seems like he would tie them up to almost use as bait. He's pretty much part 4 Jason + reboot Jason = Ghost Jason

I really enjoyed what I saw here, however you shouldn't have added Music to the footage. Just the raw "Found Footage" like they did in 1999 with the Blair Witch Project and let the ambient noise be the "music" we here would have been much better. But still a great Short-Film and I would really love to see a full Firday the 13th or Never Hike Alone movie made in this Found Footage Style.

Honestly? This is a successful experiment, it totally works as a horror short experience to watch on mobile while laying on the bed. I'm surprised you didn't make it canon because as a "spin off" it would really fit, in my opinion.

This was a "hey, let's fuck around and find out what we can do with 0 resources" type project. Everything was sort of made up on the fly as an experiment to see how effective we could make a vertical video experience. This is not canon, but it does make a great proof of concept for what we'd like to do with NHA3.
