Have you explored the possibility of having the rear windows open-able? Either by rolling down or having 2 sections sliding over each other. My plan (if I ever get the Gurkha) is to be able to sleep inside the vehicle, so having ventilation at the rear is absolutely necessary.

Hi, I think the current fixed glasses helps to insulate the engine sound inside. There is no possibility of rolling down for sure with current design, but sliding windows might be possible. Not sure if I have shared larger clip of this, but in this video I have shown possibility of sleeping inside when discussing about customised bags. I have removed the back seats and my kid, wife comfortably slept inside car while I am driving. In both below cases never had any issue during very long drives: - Rajastan travel with all seats on with parents and rooftop tent - spiti trip with only wife and kid where back seats and roof top tent removed I am big follower of your channel and almost watched all of them. So I hope I got your question right. You might want to seep inside while exploring those amazing mountains. During spiti trip I used to bring down front glasses a little for fresh air circulation to avoid any oxygen issues for my kid. Honestly I feel you can still sleep inside but for those places you explore, you can use front glasses for fresh air circulation.

@@StudiousWanderer Thank you so much for your detailed response. I must have missed the part in your video where you talked about sleeping inside the car. I test drove the Gurkha today and did some measurements of my own. The length from behind the front seat to the back door came to around 4ft or 120cm approximately. I was in a hurry and maybe did not measure properly. I feel that roof top tents attract a lot of attention. I want to be able to park by the side of the road sometimes and sleep without anyone noticing me. And my plan is to remove the rear seats and build some kind of a platform with storage below it an a space for sleeping above. Currently the 3 door Gurkha is a bit small for it and even if I can adjust by sleeping in a diagonal angle, I feel that the fixed rear windows would make it a bit suffocating at night. I really want to get a vehicle this year and add another dimension to my explorations. But I guess it is prudent to wait until the end of the year for the 5-door Gurkha to be released (the Sales Representative dropped a bomb this afternoon and told me that the 5-door will come in 2-wheel drive only to keep the costs down. Hope he is wrong).

I just took measurements few mins back when someone asked in comments. I measured from bottle holder. But that’s approximate. I agree with RoofTop tent, sometimes it’s added attention. I did try already what you mentioned like having underneath storage with bed on top. Hurried for it before recent spiti trip. But he gave estimate of 20-25 days to get it ready. I wanted to have it little differently and modular way. Like I should be above to use it for seating if required and also sleeping. It’s under progress. May be my wife and kids height is small so they can manage. I generally sleep in drivers seat. But when doing solo rides I may have to remove even other seat on front to fit nicely. With my discussions with Pune dealer 5 door version should be out soon on or before 3rd quarter. Hopefully we come across soon. Please share if you have any Insta handle. Will connect with u there.

@@StudiousWanderer Yeah, I saw the video again and noticed that your wife and kid actually slept sideways inside the car. That would not work for tall people like me :). Let's hope you are right and the 5-door is released by September. At least then I can have it in time for winter. Anyway, thanks for all your detailed responses. Very nice sir, Your earned yourself a lifetime subscriber, always looking for inspiration like you. I am also from Pune and am currently considering the Gurkha after going through a lot of options. Your video has helped me gain a good perspective on the mods. One suggestion though. The cylinder you are carrying may not be safe. I also carry one and if I don't open the windows for an hour, it fills the cabin with the smell. I don't know if you can mount it outside the vehicle. I have seen overlanding setups outside India where the cylinder is placed where usually Jerry can is mounted, but not sure how legal it is in India, but it is safer as it will easily disperse outside. Also, somehow giving it some shade to cool needs to be considered.

Hope we come across in Pune. - Yes actually I checked by visiting personally HP Gas showroom to for assurance on safety. They said it’s no problem and small blue cylinder is not illegal too. But for extra safety I carry small fire extinguisher and also keep the cylinder inside a thick plastic tin. So incase if unfortunate situation it is restricted - for Jerry can I always keep a spare cloth with it, and try to cover it when it’s too hot.

I did not try for this yet. But as you are aware BS6 gurkha is little modified from older generation. So it’s not easy to find things after market. We have to get them customised. Currently I am exploring ways to change protective plates below body, but only if FM agrees with it. So far nothing touched down for me so far. So not in hurry.

Hi, we have an option of 2 jump seats or child seats as part of accessories from Gurkha. I sometimes have one of them and remove all other seats at back during short trips. So my kid can sit for a while and sleep inside the car when required. It costs around 9.5k for 2 seats including fitting charges by the dealer. Let me know if you are looking for anything specific? Please give a feedback to force motors about its low ground clearance. Ground clearance should be improved. Force Kargo king ground clearance is 239 mm. Where as the hardcore off roader has only 205 mm.

Tent costed around 1L including some fabrication. It’s 70mai dash camera which also includes back camera. It costed around 13k I guess. Completely agree but the current bumper may not hold the winch weight. I explored this option before. Need to find a way to check for any offroading bumpers before having winch.

Thanks for feedback. I am not comfortable with Hindi nor a native speaker. Used to do videos in English before but based on feedback on previous videos trying this. Hopefully will learn with time.
