After fitting my Chinese Diesel Heater I went to start it up and discovered the controller was not the same as all the guides I had seen online so I decided to make a video about how to use it.

Literally the only video I've found where you have the same controller. Have an E-8 error this morning. No matter how many times I powered it up I couldn't get the pump to activate. A quick second of priming (I'd forgotten the shortcut) and it's now working fine ❤

At last a tutorial that explains something getting straight to the point without a load of unnecessary waffling! Thanks Ive just bought a CDH with this contol the instuction book is unreadable!

Thank you so much. This is my third heater and all 3 have different controllers from each other. This by far the hardest and least intuitive to use. Yours is the only correct guide I can find and I really appreciate it! I was on the verge of returning it as failty as I could not get it to prime. My other 2 came with external filters so I could see when they were full. No filter on this one ..

Interesting, thanks for letting us know! I didn't notice there are two similar-looking controllers, and that they aren't swappable. There is another diesel heater in the Vevor store with an even different controller that looks arguably better, but since I can't find it anywhere else, I won't buy it due to compatibility risk.

Thank you so much this was the only helpful video I found… I was like ah why is mine so different from everyone else’s?! I’ll try alpine and exploring the timer setting… H1 is too damn hot and my up and down buttons don’t seem to change ANYTHING in the settings menu expect the manual H1-6. Anyone have any tricks for sleeping through the night when it’s freezing outside but 30+ degrees in your van 😅?

No problem , I guess you can just open the side door, my van is super insulated so I tend to get it really hot, turn the heater off, then turn it back on to warm up in the morning, I may downgrade to a 2kw heater at some point !

Not keen in this controller. Is there no way to fit the older model ? The older one is in Hz and better. This new one just scrolls straight passed 1to6 heat cycles straight. if you keep pressing plus on the remote you dont know if you are on 6 or any other number heat setting

I wish there was, I looked into this a lot at the time and they seem to be bespoke to the motherboard in the heater so it is a much bigger job and probably more cost effective to just replace everything

Brilliant. Got one. Too bloody hot tho. How do you get it in 'Hz' mode; frequency of pump. Even with lowest heat and MM its still pulsing nearly 2x second. I got it own to 1 Hz in Hz mode, but cant get there again after not using it all summer. What have I forgotten?

I haven't seen them in Hz mode, I just put mine in alpine mode which kindof does the same thing and slows the pump a little more... it does easily sit at like 30 degrees + though !

did you manage to get it into Hz mode again? i got the same display and want to get it way down! partially because of the heat, and part of the fan being way too loud at that speed

@@patricgrape7458 you cannot get into Hz mode on these controllers. They are completely different than the older controllers.

I would also prefer to control the heater in Hz mode. H1 is too hot - pff. I will be experimenting with Alpine mode in the coming period. Is it also possible to replace the controller with one that does allow Hz control, do you think?

At what elevation should you start using alpine mode?

I don't think you'll do any damage at sea level, doesn't strike me as the most refined combustion cycle !

I don't think it should need pairing because its wired in. It sounds like you have a fault or the wrong kind of wiring loom/motherboard. These controllers are not cross compatible with the other kind which looks identical. Best of luck !

@@Dafthagen just managed to pair mine , while unit is off but has power to it , press and hold power on and down button at the same time , then press down button on remote .

I would say not since it seems to require the different controller board and wiring harness so if your heater didn't come with one then you can't swap it

Anyone know if it is possible to stop the controller from going into standby. Would like control to stay illuminated but after a while it keeps going off with a little padlock symbol?
