Actual HFT associate here just want you to know we LOVE this video and me and my associates actually appreciate you breaking everything down. We sometimes are not able to put our hands on these items as we are on CS Center side and work from home so watching this really helps the new guys understand this item more and we get a great laugh. 😂😂

This was honestly the best tutorial on how to navigate and the abilities it can offer . Just picked up today on the 20% sale unfortunately but got it for my truck 2007 Nissan titan xe will post how good it works once i start it up 🆙

I have a 2013 Boss 302. If you’ve ever watched those “Air Disaster” shows where all shit hits the fan in a cockpit… every light, bell, buzzer, whistle all at once. Well, my car did that a couple weeks ago. “Power Steering Gone, Brakes Gone, Traction Control Gone, Add Power Brake Fluid, ABS Gone, etc…. That’s why I’m watching OBD scanner videos… looking to see what I should buy. My right rear threw off the outer brake pad right when this happened…. Hopefully all of the other issues stemmed from that!! Thank you for the video.

Nice and informative video! One question, is this able to read transmission oil temperatures? I couldn’t see on the live data screen. Just want to be 100% sure. Thank you

Really appreciate this video! Fun to watch, and really informative. I went with the Innova 5160Rs, and have mixed feelings about it as well. While the Repair Solutions software is cool, I have a long list of things I'd like it to be able to do (even as a reasonably-priced upgrade) like notes, service history, etc. that would make it much more helpful to me as a doofus in my Messy Garage, trying to keep the family fleet running. There's also a bug for me (at least on the Android tablet I've installed RS2 on) where I can't see the additional info for a 2nd/3rd code, so the first code is the only place I can see the (occasionally very-helpful) suggestions. Anyway, thanks for the great content!

Does the innova save more than three vehicles? The Zurich makes you re-enter the first one if you enter a fourth.

@@thedoubtfultechnician8067 The RS2 software doesn't seem to have a limit (which is nice). I don't know if I've noticed what the handset unit has saved internally. Will check.

In my experience the only way to do that is to fix the actual fault. I don’t believe that system has memory, it self tests every time you turn it on.

Great video in many respects. I bought one of this model thinking it could be handy as I set out to shop for used cars. Am I inferring correctly that with a tool like this (or even without...jumping pins) that someone can clear the error lights without having repaired the problem? And if so, scanning with the tool again will find that out for me?

@@MrAboutLife I bought the Zurich ZR13S and it does work to test the charging system of my Toyota 4Runner 2002. Does it work for all vehicles? Probably most.

The ZR15S definitely retracts the Electronic Emergency Brake, I went out bought 1 , updated it, & used it with no problems

I have a 1995 Land Cruiser…you mention just get the cheap code reader if it’s an older car..why is that? I have abs and srs codes I need help diagnosing but don’t want to spend the money on a code reader if it won’t help pinpoint the issue

Firstly, make sure your LC is obd2- 1995 is iffy since 1996 was when obd2 became mandatory. If you’re not obd2, this scanner is of no real value to you. Secondly, the abs and srs codes are likely accessible with out any scanners by jumping pins and counting flashes. Not a LC guy but I’m sure there’s tons of info out there on how!

It is obd2 so it must be a late 95 model. I guess my question was related what I thought you said about the older “Supra” and how the obd2 doesn’t have pro great on them? Or did I misunderstand? Thanks for getting back to me

@@MJ-ex8dl Ah. That’s because it doesn’t have enough modules to justify a fancy scanner. It has the ECM for engine/transmission codes (which a cheap scanner can handle no problem) and an SRS and ABS module which you can just read by jumping two pins and reading the flashes on your dashboard. You’d be wasting your money on a fancy scanner! Unless you have newer more complex cars as well.

Another good one. In my case Autel for the win. I know more money but hasn't failed me yet. BTW Wife's LFA may be short a few cylinders.

Numerous people have pointed out that Autel may make the Zurich scanners, but I can’t confirm that. It’s a lower trim level LFA. They didn’t all come with V10s. I’m not rich, ya know.

Those lights aren’t for showing a possibly fault.its for emission.when its yellow it’s telling u it may not pass a emissions test when u go to get a inspection sticker

@@thedoubtfultechnician8067 O well nobody knows everything just ones I’ve used similar to that was like I was saying but looking at ur video again and watching u go through the app it shows on the app that the light being red means it’s not ready for a emission test and would fail like I was saying so where both correct it tells u what u was saying and also tells u what I was saying

Your level of knowledge of cars and how the ZR13S device operates are far ahead of me, I was lost throughout this video. I don't know what all the acronyms mean such as OBD2 and what "jumper some pins" means, for example. Maybe you could make another video aimed at novices such as myself, it would be appreciated. I got the app installed on my phone and enabled it's Bluetooth, but pairing was not working out for me. I'm discouraged.

This is a tool for mechanics. If you don’t know those terms, I think the cheapo dongle would be more than enough for your needs and probably less frustrating. No offense intended.

That’s not always why the tpms sensor is throwing the code… it’s a “system”

@@thedoubtfultechnician8067 what are some other things a TPMS code could indicate? This is a real question, I’m not being argumentative. I find it interesting and I’m trying to learn more about the “modern” vehicles and diagnostics. I restore and work on 50s thru 70s American muscle cars (and “non” muscle cars… “weakling” cars?)… Cars you can rebuild on the side of a Hwy with a hammer, screwdriver, and a Craftsman socket set✌️

99% of the time if it’s not low on pressure, it’s a communication fault between one of the 4-5 sensors and the module. This can tell you which sensor might be bad so you don’t have to pull all four tires and do trial by error!

@@chipdayton1625 I’m 145 years old, and to this day I can not remember whether the AA are the smaller ones, or the AAA. And every time I have to buy one or the other, I make up some mnemonic so I won’t forget again, but I do (And it’s not due to my senility, I could never keep that straight)… and I’m an attorney who took the bar exam and am licensed in three states. That means remembering 1000s of drab, useless, arcane, abstruse bits of information and regurgitating them by way of coloring in dots. Short story long… the AA/AAA thing eludes me.
