Looks absolutely beautiful I would of went for it but I went Intercity 125 43002 and green GWR 43198 I have just bought the green GWR HST railroad with 2 Coaches

Still a good choice, and more affordable ! I'm tempted, as my GWR is the old oak common with a design on it, and the railroad set is DCC ready, but undecided if I want to shell out more money on a set that's not a wholly a different livery....

Mangley Town Yes their is not a lot of difference in the Livery but it’s because 43002 has Sir Kenneth Grange name plate on it

@@MrJoshiej yes, and I've got quite a collection already ! That's why I'm undecided about duplicating liveries, I do love the Harry Patch you've just got, but the rest of the rake is still just the FGW blue that I've already got, why I've shuned away from it thus far, and the price ! So just on the £ of it, a huge well done for bagging it mate 😀😀

Obv they run with 5 coaches then ! The way the lettering is, don't really want to duplicate liveries with exactly the same set, may just have to get the other 2 coaches and run it as a 12 car lol

I'm soooo rule 1 😀😀 lol I may even have to get the other 2 coaches now ! Because of the coach letters, may as well have a 12 car rake 😀😀 I do love a long fast passenger train 😀

What’s the sliding door thing here? Do the passenger car doors slide open?

I'd imagine they do on the real coaches, but unfourtnunatley not on the models, a shame they didn't update the models that much

Mangley Town I don’t know why they add the words “sliding door” to the models, when almost all trains have sliding doors now a days and none are mentioned like that for models. Also, technically I believe it would be a challenge to add sliding door functionality as one channel has to be reserved in the DCC decoder for this, as with lights/sounds/horn/etc. and for this, the dcc chip might not be yet standardised. Anyways, that clears my doubt! Thanks!

@@ManmohanMohanty even though not functional, still a different style door to the old ones, hence the updated model, and agree, would be too awkward to make them functional

Not a fan of this livery,I had a good look at one on display in a glass cabinet in Hamley,s toy store London.

I don't mind it, I'd have a hard decision for my favourite livery, but yeah, this wouldn't be in top 5 !

Ridiculously expensive for an HST . Sorry a few steps painted spring details and simple transfers just aren’t worth £35.00 per coach and a list of £289 ! for the power cars - Hornby are having a laugh and wonder why the hobby has been in decline !
