Few issues with your rig Disclaimer I don't mean to be rude I'm trying to help. The end eye you looped and blocked the gap with a crimp you can either make a straight and crimp both or do a wrap with the wire. Your open loop will straighten out on a decent fish. The middle weight attachment point can be made with a loop twist as well. Also you should use a split ring here not a swivel, this will give you options of attaching a jig weight or just a sinker. With a split ring a jig will impart movement onto the spreader bar and rattle as it reaches its end of movement, a swivel only allows a jig to flutter. It also gives you the option of just adding a sinker or a jig. Thefishingkit did a video on this ebing rig or spreader bar and explained it all.

I appreciate the comment and input on getting these built. I’m going to make a few more with a thicker gauge rod. Going to try get rid of the open loop as it is a concern I thought about as well. Split ring vs swivel is a great suggestion also, will def give that a shot. I’ll have to check out the channel you suggested and post an update.

@ProjectReel gague of the ebing rod is up to you, long as it keeps its shape and moves about or bend excessively its fine. Going deep with plastics going over 1oz just kills their action expecially on small profile ones. You only want enough to just sink in current. Ebing rig allows you to fish a light plastic and get it down deep. Also you don't need any spefic gear to make it work like a jigging rod. I do like longer rods as you are moving the weight you still have 1m of trace out that you need to move. So lifting a short 6' rod your at its full range to even get it to move a little. Where a 8' rod gives you a bit more diatance to work with.
