I've talked about this before because you see it all the time. People come right out of nursing school or have a small amount of nursing under their belt and they act like they wrote the book, like Florence gave them the seal of approval and they ish don't stink and they captain save a unit, that ain't how it work boo, but I digress.

The green juice and the salmon recipe looks so delicious! Beautiful girls! I enjoyed your insight on energy, made me think. So much good advice in this video, with me being a student nurse( although I was a LPN for a number of years), especially the time management. I am definitely open to learn and receive from others! No cockiness or big head here!

Nurse B! I this is my video I needed!! I tuned down a hospital telemetry job because they weren’t forthcoming that it was a 2 year contract! With pay back penalty with no $ set/stated. Gotta take care of me and my family. Anyhow, I interviewed and accepted a job 3 mi from home as a clinic LVN mostly admin work and oversee the MAs. I have been thinking how they will feel about a new grad LVN because I am new. I am ready to be open and accepting to constrictive criticism and to learn as much as I can from my new team. I’m excited 😊 The person I’m taking over from has transitioned to RN in the company so I am hoping it is a place to grow!!

I have been a CNA for 10+ years at a Trauma / Teaching Hospital and Night Shift Nurses work friendlier with the team than Day Nurses. It does not matter the unit or floor. The Nurses I have gravitated to to learn from will be their true self and stay flexible to teach and take the time to show you correctly and have been awesome to me, thank god. They usually are the older Rn's, the new nurses are not willing to show you anything or change anything about themselves (even when wrong) Its terrible on some days more than others. I do strongly believe you dont stop learning until the day that you die, be true to yourself and kind to others. its not humble its more of lack of kindness thing from what i grasp working in the medical field. I love your energy and dont ever let these people dull that spark you got mama😜

I really needed to hear this video! I am the exact same way, workaholic by nature and big over-thinker. It’s hard for me to sit still especially when I’m at work. I enjoy learning and working hard, but I’m realizing as I get older that certain stimulation is just not healthy. And I completely agree that nursing is one of those professions that is DRAINING in every way possible due to all of the stimulation and moving parts. I love what you said about learning how to navigate through those difficult spaces and being aware of certain energy. I am super sensitive to energy to the point where I’ve allowed nursing to beat me into the ground. I feel like this video was the reminder I needed to get a life outside of being a nurse 🤣 Nursing is what I do not who I am. I look forward to channeling my energy into more positive spaces and people. Thanks for the video 🙌🏾❤️

I think this when I see new grad vloggers bragging about doing a week of 12s or whatever and talk themselves up for working so much over time, always saying yes, etc. I'm like you'e not saving anything, you are being taken advantage of and if you don't pull back you ARE going to burn out. Then cue like 9-12 months in they always make that video about how they can't do their new grad job anymore and are so burnt out and make a big deal of either quitting their first job or quiting nursing altogether. Every time I wanna be like you kinda set yourself up for it. Your job isn't to go in picking up all the shifts for everyone and trying to change units (like you said!). Or worse they get too involved with the drama right out the gate. You're still NEW. Your job is to really get your time management and skills down and honestly, keep learning and being open to that. You really don't know anything in your first year lmao when you go into your first job with that 'I gotta change healthcare, I'm gonna be the best on my unit, I'm gonna work myself to the ground because I think I gotta do that to prove I care" you're setting yourself up for failure. It's unrealistic expectations. Your first job was never going to be your forever job, they probably hired you assuming you'd want to quit at least by a year in LOL but that don't mean it's not for you or that that job represents everything wrong with healthcare and you an expert now. You(general new grad who does this new lol) went in with completely unrealistic expectations, did not adjust those, and maybe had some unrealistic expecations about nursing to begin with. But you were never going to save anything by coming into healthcare. They just need you to be the best nurse you can be for the job you're hired to do, not do everything or get involved with everything. Honestly, you're making the vids everyone needs to hear! ..../rant lol
