I was one of ur subs that stayed subbed. Ur spotlight project was EPIC and I hope u can top that in future. What I like to see is u making an effort to go offgrid for example Build a 24v or 48volt system and use it in ur daily life to charge ur camera gear, mobile phone and any other dc device. In the future maybe add an inverter to it. I am wondering what ur power bills r like over there, how much sun u get, how much wind u get etc, is it viable for u to go off grid? can u build a wind turbine if u have wind? The way u did the spotlight vids were pretty good, I think they were off the cuff. The finished product showing first cud be a good idea and then go into detail and people I think prefer practical mostly with a little bit of explanation or theory. The trick with utube is to make regular vids, people who put out daily vids make a very good income but that cud be draining on ur creative soul. Another interesting topic is ur internet access and whats available to you, can u run ur modems and routers off a battery bank? etc do you suffer from regular breakdowns of power and internet? do u have to go to a job? or do u work from home? etc... i think u cud be a great asset to the offgrid community on utube.... keep the vids coming pls. Cheers from downunder.

Thank you very much :) I did actually play a bit with the idea of a wind turbine. Unfortunately, i can't really put one up permanently, because I live in the town. I would like to make a battery bank and an inverter. Just for fun though. I have a 5.5 kW solar installation already, which is tied to the grid. The remaining power bill can't justify to invest in a battery, but making an off-grid supplement could be pretty fun. :)

Wow 47% !!! What does the government give you in return, care for you when you're old or....?? Anyway, to answer your questions: The bling effect doesn't really matter to me, I like the content, for example Dave Jones from the eevblog, I just loved his power supply series, his electronic load design vids, his u current design and build series, all his design and troubleshooting videos. I also like firmware writing/coding videos Off the cuff or scripted doesn't really matter so long as the videos not long too long. The more in detail the design, troubleshooting, etc, the better but not too long!

47% tax is ridiculous.

it depends :) I don't think it is that bad, considering health care, education, social security is free. it sucks if you have a really high income, but for middle class it's ok. We do have some deductions. So, for the personal income it doesn't quite reach that. but any "side income" is full tax. That being said we do have "extra tax" for high incomes O.o

If you haven't seen Dirk from Versailles's video on how to go viral, you might want to check that out. It's called "My Video Went Viral. Here's Why", which in itself is a tip. Basically you want to work on your video titles and thumbnails to make them more eye-catching so you can improve your click-through rate. The algorithm also definitely prefers videos that aren't too long, and in my experience, I find it difficult to put time aside to watch them, and usually forget about them. I would suggest if you're going to put the "finished product" videos first, you might want to make them a little more scripted, or at least write a list of talking points to hit on each thing you want to explain. You would probably want those videos to be a little better edited, with less waffle and repeating stuff. If you find yourself waffling or getting into the weeds on something in the "finished product" video, that's a good indication you should be suggesting to the viewer that they should watch the more in-depth video for more info. You do a pretty good job explaining in-depth stuff off the cuff, but there might be some waffle or repetitions here and there. So maybe you could look for that in the edit and try to tidy it up where possible. Like I said, the algorithm prefers videos that aren't too long, so it's probably better to split up more in-depth videos into separate videos on specific topics as well, kinda like you started doing with the LED driving project. You could probably have split the last video into three, with a quick one on switching theory, maybe with a quick demo using a function generator (if you have one) as a PWM source, then a second on the full build, then a third showing how to do it "the easy way" using a switching regulator IC. And obviously you take the opportunity to direct the viewers to previous videos for more details, to keep from going over the same stuff again. I guess what I'm getting at is to think about the structure of the videos before you start recording stuff. You're doing a pretty good job at the moment, but if you want to start to split things up more, structure becomes more important. Otherwise it can quickly become a mess, and make editing the videos very difficult. Anyway, I'm glad you're back making videos regularly. I'm looking forward to seeing your future projects, and seeing how you decide to improve your videos!

Thanks for the comment. That was pretty much my thought as well :) yep, I have seen that video. Pretty nicely explained. I will take some inspiration :) I don't really like the click-bait titles though. Personally I hate a big title if the content is not really up to it. (I know it might not generate as many views, but that's ok)

+1 for DIY Power supply. Will not vote on patreon, because It required patreon or F-book accounts, and I refuse to support those companies in any shape or form, including even user's count.
