I got those clippers when I bought a discounted paint set at Barnes and Noble (for 12 bucks!) and I have to say, they are really good. I didn't expect much since they look like some cheapie version of the ones GW sells separately, but they're better than my Xuron clippers which cost almost as much as the paint set did.

As a returning customer who recently bought Dominion, I wish GW had let customers know these sets would be available. I'm a bit confused whether I made the right decision regards Dominion vs Extremis.

If you price up per miniature and compare all the sets, then I think Dominion was a good deal, especially with all the heroes and the two large bosses. Plus the Core Book was really good. The book included in the new starter sets just contains the rules I believe. The terrain in the larger set is ok but I don’t think it’ll be enough if you expand the armies and definitely not enough for a Warcry game.

I really like the smallest set, really good value and I'll definitely be buying multiple of these! For the mid ranged set it's still good but I don't see the value in paying twice as much. As for the biggest I love the scenery, just don't think it's worth £40 extra. So I think I'll just be buying quite a few of the small set and building up piles of lord arcanums and kills bosses lol. Atleast I can make my stabgrot warclan army now!

I got the dominion set as my starter set (completely new to Warhammer). I been holding out for an updated start painting set though so this is great news for me.

Was thinking of purchasing dominion and giving AOS a try, but then GW announced that new Kill team and Black Templars on the horizon. I only have so much muney I can devote to my hobby. But these new sets look nice.

It's always going to be a matter of preference but I'd say Age of Sigmar is the more interesting property especially with their new Era of the Beast. 40k is kinda more of the same it's always been.

Personally the most important part for me is that the minis from the paint sets as the minis from the "getting started" magazine have different poses then the one in Dominion. That´s why I am probably getting them all 3, and you can never go wrong with more colors.

Ah perfect, i have dominion but these are excellent to expand the armies :-). Also a good way to learn the new rules with the little playbooks included. That's how i got the hang of the previous edition and also 9th edition 40k.

It shows the little paperback rulebook for all the tiers of starter box, but only mentions it actually coming with the Extremis box - which if they are all the equivalents of the 40k boxes would be right. So that's a mistake on the GW graphics team, I think... I picked up Dominion, so I'm not desperate for the minis, but the smaller 'rules only' book and the getting started guide that came with the 40k box were very handy, so I may be tempted into picking this up for them alone...

We’ll spotted. I’ve heard those get started guides are great and thought that’s what the War at Amberstone Watch booklet in Dominion was going to be. Pleasantly surprised that it was a narrative booklet that gave a nice intro to each miniature. Thanks for watching 👊

@@tabletopskirmishgames They were a massive help for getting the hang of things. Started off with basic stuff - Move and shoot with 3 Marines and 5 Necron Warriors - that kind of thing, but ended up with scenarios using every mini and the terrain, objectives, special rules. Much better than just throwing you in at the deep end with "Here's all the rules, crack on then..."

Take your time and be patient. Sometimes models will glue together the way you want them and sometimes they just won’t do what you want them too. Probably the best advice that was given to me about painting is it’s incredibly similar to coloring in a coloring book: Coloring book: stay in the lines Painting: don’t get paint where you don’t want it At first it sounds easier said than done but a good solid base is 90% of the work. 🤣 if you want to play AoS and need two decent sized armies then I think the Dominion box set is brilliant for that. There’s also some amazing larger models on the way due for release soon. The Vulcha and other monsters for Kruleboyz and Dragons and a very cool chariot for Stormcast. For Warcry you won’t need as many models so maybe look at the other starter sets. The larger one come with terrain and a board which is nice. What game will you play them in the most?

Soul Wars is still an excellent box imho. That box + dominion should be a great list as Dominion still needs some Sequitors, Evocators and Lord Arcanum.

I’d rather the Dominion set to get those extra minis, plus the big book is awesome. Extremis looks good if players aren’t interested in all the lore and fluff but want to give it a go, and a good way to get a bit of terrain and some Warcry warband options too for not a huge amount. I’m happy I got Dominion and didn’t wait for these, but I can see some people might be disappointed; hopefully not too many though. Thanks for watching! 👊

personally disagree, if only due to Dominion having the Killabosses which I know being bundled is the only way I'd ever own them (not paying $30-$60 for a single model)

Lol, just compare paint sets. 2nd editon had more minis with unique bases. New paint sets are jokes compared to old ones. And with dominion, all other boxes are pretty useless. (+ orruks are such a boring and uninteresting race, nighthaunts were better)
